How to show smart event markers in playback for Hikvision?

I've got a 7608 I-series on the latest firmware and five 2355's on the latest firmware, all set to record continuously. I use line crossing and intrusion detection, not motion detection. On the NVR monitor in playback, any smart events show up as red lines in the blue playback line across the...

Hikvision NVR update with IP and mac whitelist

Hikvision just released firmware version 4.21 for its I-series NVR's (which I own). One of the new features allows whitelisting/blacklisting access by IP address or mac address. See attached portion of the release notes. Given all the various security issues with port forwarding, the...

    Over sensitive Motion?

That was the point of my post above since I'd mentioned intrusion/line crossing detection. Neither shows in the web GUI, even on single camera. I'm on it right now and it does not work - perhaps for motion, but not line or intrusion. If there's a way to make it work I'd love that.

    Over sensitive Motion?

Are you viewing on a computer, or on a monitor connected to the NVR? You won't get the event lines on a web browser, but you will on a monitor.

    Over sensitive Motion?

Stop using motion, it sucks. Use intrusion and line detection.

Should I be concerned about these temperatures?

Your post did make me think - what are my cam's temps going to be in the 100 degree summer in my garage? Guess I'll keep an eye on them as Stewart suggested.

Should I be concerned about these temperatures?

Quite true. The cam in my garage operates on IR 99% of the time. It is noticeably warmer to the touch than my outdoor cams.

Hik-Connect - Playback only working during the night!?

Don't know if this will help - last weekend I discovered that setting max bitrate through the NVR GUI and then hitting save resulted in no change to the max bitrate for my cams. I had to go directly into the cams' GUI, make max bitrate changes there, then hit save. Then back into the NVR GUI I'd...

    IPcam Addict

Man, you are not kidding around. No matter what anyone says, it if makes you feel safe then it's a good thing. I understand the urge too - after installing my home system with 5 cams, I find myself walking the perimeter of my house wondering where I can put new cams. It is addicting.

    Hik NVR 7716NI-I4/16P problems

On 4.0, through the web interface, go to Config, Network, Advanced, Other - tick "enable virtual host" - hit "save" Then go to Config, System, Camera Management and you will see the links to directly access the cams' interface.

Hikvision 76xx and 77xx NI NVR's PoE power overload

Dennis - apologies ahead of time for the cell phone pic, but I thought I'd show you what I see on my NVR about every hour. I take it this is not what you are seeing?

    Camera Systems close to Arlo/Nest

Well you said: "Some customers feel that dahua and hikvision are more complicated." And you're right, I didn't directly address that, but I tried to in a round about way. So from the user end, I find my system very easy to work with, program, and understand. Again, from a newbie point of view.

    Camera Systems close to Arlo/Nest

I can tell you that I'm by no means a tech savvy guy - just a low level enthusiast. With help from this forum and others I was able to run cable and install a Hikvision NVR and 5 cams, get it all programmed, and it works perfectly. It just requires some time researching, making notes...

Hikvision 76xx and 77xx NI NVR's PoE power overload

Sorry man, I don't think I can help then. I do wish you luck.

Hikvision 76xx and 77xx NI NVR's PoE power overload

Is this only occurring on POE channels that are not being used? Or does it occur on all of them? I ask because I have something similar, once per hour, but only on those channels that are not used. When I turned off power to those unused channels through the NVR, I stopped getting that notice...

Hikvision 76xx and 77xx NI NVR's PoE power overload

Are you sure it says "overload" rather than "exception" or something along those lines?

Actual human detection vs Camera "Intrusion Detection" features

Sounds like you're trying to reduce false alerts. On my Hikvision system, under either line crossing or intrusion detection, I can set the minimum size object that will trigger the alert. Once tweaked to ignore the night time cats and possums, I almost never get false alerts anymore. NVR is a...

New Hikvision NVR loud fan "replacement" :)

For what it's worth, I have a new 7608-I model that I installed about 10 days ago. Build date is June of 2018. The fan is nearly silent - you have to tilt your head to the side and really listen in order to hear it from just 3 feet away. I wonder if a new model of fan is being used?
