    I've never had any luck changing bitrate on the NVR - it has to be changed directly on the camera interface or you get these problems. Once changed on the camera, you likely won't see the change on the NVR interface until you click away to another tab and then go back. I can't say why it does...

    OP, keep in mind that max bitrate is only a ceiling, it does not force the NVR to record at that bitrate. You can see that by fiddling with the settings and then real time monitoring a camera's usage. I think the max bitrate setting is for those using lower quality NVR's, like the "K" series...

    As far as I can tell, the HDD Sleeping tick box only works in a 2+ drive system when you want to make the currently unused drive go to sleep. That's how it works on my I-series NVR anyway.

    Bought my whole system - NVR and eight cams - from B&H. Had to warranty one cam shortly after purchase and it went smoothly and quickly. It's worth it for me to buy from an authorized dealer rather than buying hacked Chinese cams for $20 off.

    Double check all your cam settings. On two occasions I've had a setting or two go back to default after a firmware upgrade. No idea why.
