    Pixelation triggering motion

Viewing in the app. Both the motion and IVS events (with nothing else in view) have this pixelation during the triggers. I first noticed with a cloud/shadow. These few events were on clear days. I’ll definitely check my bitrates and post settings when I get home.

    Pixelation triggering motion

I’ll post my settings. This was a motion event. Look below the truck on the left and below the garage door. 1/2 the image became pixelated upon the motion trigger. Like a pixelated wave that caused the event on two different cameras. I’ve always used CBR. My sizes are all around 3-400.

    Pixelation triggering motion

Good afternoon, I have two separate cameras that become pixelated at times and appear to go from light to dark and trigger motion. I understand why it’s being triggered, what could I do to stop it? On one of the cameras, the pixelation also causes an IVS trigger. Is this Dahua related and/or a...

I wondered about that and will make it happen. Thank you @wittaj !

Setting BI to record motion during day only

Good evening, Is there a way to set blue Iris to only record motion during a specific schedule? Can something be added to this utility to not use motion detection during the night time settings? This is for a Z12E camera. I’m able to isolate the exact zone with very few false alarms and the...

    DOD viewing of Blue Iris

100% we’re authorized “limited personal use” of equipment. This should fall into that category. Again, not continuously viewing it. Some things are blocked some aren’t and just because it’s not blocked doesn’t mean we should be there. I haven’t tried it and am not sure it will even allow me to...

    DOD viewing of Blue Iris

I don’t think any of them would use or attempt to use it. My cell service is horrible there. Allowing them (the man lol) access was as much a concern as the possibility of a prohibited practice. I use Verizon, maybe another carrier has a better reception there.

    DOD viewing of Blue Iris

Any federal employees viewed BI UI3 from a workplace computer? I don’t see a problem with it. I haven’t tried it but I know everything I look at is monitored. Obviously I have nothing I’m concerned with anyone seeing on my cameras, I wasn’t sure if it was frowned upon?

    PFA121 threaded plug

I’ve got taps up to 5/8-24. I’ll get some cable glands on order. I was thinking drill to 1/4, insert cat5 and terminate lol. I figure I could seal around the cable but your way is better.

    PFA121 threaded plug

Nice. The second picture is what I’m trying to do. Between than and a clamp about 3-4” down from it should be good to go. I’ve seen that Ethernet fitting before. Are they readily available at Lowes or HD? Thank you Capt.!

    PFA121 threaded plug

Good evening, I’m going to mount a camera to a pfa121. The junction box has a knockout/plug and I need to use it to run my cat5 through. The hole is a 3/4G thread which is British. Has anyone ever used these or something similar? 3/4-in Die Cast Zinc Clamp-on Type Service Entrance Connector...

Keeping PTZ in preset after spotter cam triggers it.

This is working somewhat. Now after my spotter can triggers it, ptz goes to its designated location and continues tracking me and sending alerts/triggers. BUT, the ptz keeps switching back and forth between the two presets (home and spotted location). If I disable the “return home” preset, will...

Keeping PTZ in preset after spotter cam triggers it.

I mean, the IVS is still going when the camera returns to default. But, whether the IVS are active or not, that camera is returning home when the defined ptz time is up lol.

Keeping PTZ in preset after spotter cam triggers it.

Checking in. Setting the return home alert caused the ptz to only do a double take as in it went to the spotter point and immediately went back to default preset. I disabled that and only used the duration alert. However, the ptz control duration supersedes the duration alert I created. I tried...

Keeping PTZ in preset after spotter cam triggers it.

Nice. I tried extending the break time as well. No bueno lol. The ptz would still return home after 30 seconds or whatever time I tell the ptz to stay on scene after being triggered by the spotter while being triggered by an IVS. I’ll focus on the alerts page. Thank you sir!

Keeping PTZ in preset after spotter cam triggers it.

Is it possible to have a PTZ camera stay in a preset after being triggered to go there by a spotter cam? Specifically when/while the PTZ is being actively triggered by an IVS rule? I ask because my PTZ returns to its home designation while being triggered. I changed the amount of time the PTZ...

Using Spotter Cameras to direct a PTZ where to look in an NVR or Blue Iris and setting a spotter cam as a priority in Blue Iris

Hey Witt! Thanks for explaining the process to do this. I did it successfully and my PTZ returned home as expected. Odd situation for me (as always lol). I needed the ptz to move to preset 2. No big deal. Well, preset 2 is my night profile for my LPR so it switched to night. What I did remedy...

    What camera for overview?

That turret conceals a little better. It is just for overview but I wasn’t sure if I’d be better off with another z12E for the money. I’ll check out the 4K/T or 180 cameras though i do not have hardly any light there at night.

    What camera for overview?

I need another camera to view my driveway. I’ve got an IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E pointed at a gate where the yellow line is on the picture. What would be a good camera to watch the area in pink? It’s a stretch of about 120’ max. Should I just get another Z12E zoomed out? Or go with a IPC-T5442T-ZE turret?

Dahua day/night switch utility - DahuaSunriseSunset

Hey guys! I have the “0” and “1” at the end of the ptz presets to designate night or day and when I press the call or select 1 or 2 in the ptz preset it goes between day and night. However, in the events schedule both are reading “sunrise”. Any idea what may cause this or is normal? Edit: I...

    Day/night profile settings

Good morning, I just completed the day/night profile program written in this thread. https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/dahua-day-night-switch-utility-dahuasunrisesunset.18205/ After writing it all out and selecting the night profile and clicking the call button… sure enough, it goes into night...

What would crisp up this image?

You’re right I suppose. I sent the image from BI to my desktop to my email and screenshot it with my phone. I did just drop the sub stream and now the quality is clear as the SD on playback as in I can’t tell the difference. My next step was trying to get a clip sent to my laptop for viewing to...

What would crisp up this image?

100% agree and understand. I can call out plate numbers in live view of BI all day long. In playback, they’re not as clear and sometimes can’t read numbers at all. Whereas in playback from an SD (or live in BI) everything is crystal clear.

What would crisp up this image?

Yes I am in an attempt to “catch” an image. I’m guessing this is not so too good?
  27. I

What would crisp up this image?

I guess what I’m chasing is that during a live view in blue Iris, the video is as crystal clear as my SD card. I can read the plates just as well. I just can’t or don’t know or understand how to playback that level of clarity. BI is definitely capable of displaying it.

What would crisp up this image?

I know Wittaj is right. However, the truck was stopped and you just can see the back of the jeep in front of the fuel truck. There’s not over 2 seconds difference. The camera had zoomed and focused at that particular point and was only recording. Immediately after the truck moved, the ptz...
