An idea, adding a drone into our security system

For a while I had this idea, but I don't know if it is out there(something very expensive there is), it is possible to achieve on the budget?! It would be very cool, to have, specially if you already have a drone laying around. Imagine a camera senses motion, and the drone would go there to see...

Dahua PTZ Dome Camera Set Pan Limits

It would be good, if they would have that limit. I'm not sure why they don't implement that. I have never used the vertical anyway.

Dahua PTZ Dome Camera Set Pan Limits

What type of limits you are looking for, vertical or horizontal. I'm not aware of horizontal limits on these cameras.

The T-HN shouldn't even have Auto Tracking. Something weird is going on here. https://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/productDetail/6681

The thing is, that the older model had those numbers as well. I had the 59225, before this new one. The difference is actually in the letters.

Those are two different cameras, no? How that worked, without bricking it? PTZ should have another firmware. These cameras have 2 firmwares.

    Auto tracking Performance - SD4 vs SD5 vs SD8

Wittaj, could you please post a picture with the target box that you use? Mine, sometimes won't even move at all, if a car is to fast, or just goes to a weird spot.

Return Dahua Camera or Try at Home Repair of Stuck IR Filter

It is a motorized lens movement? Maybe a connector is not plugged in properly? Maybe you could unplug that big connector, with all the bronze ribbon cable and plug it back in. I would inspect the solder joints(on the bronze looking ribbon), see if there is no visible circle on it(that would be a...

    180 degree driveway view ?

I have noticed with similar splitters(using 2), once in a while, some of those cameras go offline, but a reboot, or two will bring it back online. I'm not sure what is going on, they lose their ip address? They are regular cameras, not POE+ ones.

Trying to source replacement housing (IPC-HDW5231R-ZE)

That hardened steel piece can't be drilled out, he is right. How about using the smallest hole saw? It will be hard, since the pilot drill bit can't be used. This could be done on a drill press/milling machine only. Or maybe you can find on Ebay a broken camera.

Trying to source replacement housing (IPC-HDW5231R-ZE)

Just be careful, because when you drill, don't push to much on it. The screw tries to come upwards.

Trying to source replacement housing (IPC-HDW5231R-ZE)

Try drilling it out. I don't know the size of that grab(set) screw, maybe somebody knows and will let you know. Maybe you could measure it with something. You can drill it out with a drill bit for that size thread. For example, if it's M4 x 0.7, then you would use a 3.3mm drill bit. Then, you...

    Failing HW8232EP-Z

Try the biggest caps first. If you find one, just remove it. Most likely there are multiple connected in parallel.

    Failing HW8232EP-Z

I would do that and see, maybe there is some water inside. I have even repaired dead cameras. Usually, surface mount capacitors short out. I would start measuring them for short. It shows up on the network?
