    Vigilant Solutions VSR-60-02MP1 IP Camera IPC262ER9-X10DU 24V, 1.5A, 50/60Hz.

But, since we've got both up on the screen at the same time, we can see that their FOVs are roughly similar at minimum zoom, but the IPC-B52IR-Z12E S2 can zoom in quite a bit further, and seems to get sharper text. Both cameras were set to Auto, Defaults, and then to 30 fps, and then I tweaked...

Vigilant VSR-60-02MP1 (bigger, right side of photo, left side of video) and EmpireTech IPC-B52IR-Z12E S2, Side by Side: This is NOT a comparison of "which camera is better?" because they're two different classes of product. The EmpireTech is a pretty modern, Dahua-based camera available on...

I turned on the "anti-blowout" features, and I got this nice capture: If you step through the video frame-by-frame, you can almost see where we get a keyframe and an exposure/illumination correction, just as s/he poses for us.

    BIG Owl on my Trail

Opossum and Coyote in the Upper Garden, 02/12/26 As with the last rabbits & coyotes video, these two events were a few hours apart, and edited together. But these critters cross paths all night long, every night.

Point to Point Wireless Bridge Recomendations

I just got the go-ahead from the other neighbor to install the "A" bridge and camera, so that hardware has been ordered. I bought another set of the same things I've been using, e.g. the NS-5AC bridges and the IPC-B52IR-Z12E S2 AndyCam, because I don't control that other building, so I won't be...

    Vigilant Solutions VSR-60-02MP1 IP Camera IPC262ER9-X10DU 24V, 1.5A, 50/60Hz.

Oddly hidden in System: Maintenance, is the Max. Zoom Ratio control. Anything greater than 10 appears to be digital zoom, as I can no longer hear motors whirring if I zoom in beyond 10. I thought maybe the max optical zoom might be a function of the Min. Focus Distance, but the...

    Blue Iris UI3

Neat! I'll have to play with this a bit. This just sets the global defaults for the first login from each client on each browser, correct? Once they're logged in, they can still edit whatever they want?

    Vigilant Solutions VSR-60-02MP1 IP Camera IPC262ER9-X10DU 24V, 1.5A, 50/60Hz.

Now we just need to figure out how to get +12 V from the POE circuit onto some of the other wires. Unlike every other IP camera I own, this does not have a barrel jack for DC input. It just has 3 wires for: RED: AC24V/DC12+ BLACK: AC24V/DC12 - WHITE: GND So the protection is probably done...

    Vigilant Solutions VSR-60-02MP1 IP Camera IPC262ER9-X10DU 24V, 1.5A, 50/60Hz.

I found the mic! Audio input is an RCA jack, so I snipped off the end of a mono audio cable and did a crude splice to the brown and brown/white wires. DC input is 12 V on a barrel jack, and I have tons of 12 VDC supplies lying around: It works!

    Blue Iris UI3

I'm going to give new read-only logins to my BI install, exterior cameras only, to several of the neighbor tenants in my office complex. They are not very technical. Is there a way for me to push a set of UI3 defaults to them? I downloaded my own...

    BIG Owl on my Trail

Rabbits and Coyotes in the Upper Garden 02/10/26 I took some license in the editing, and the coyote shows up 2 hours after the rabbits. But they're there all night long, and alternating appearances on the cameras, so it wouldn't surprise me if I catch a Nat Geo clip sometime soon.

Blue Iris Updates - Official Thread

I just tried this, and it's got potential: At first I was confused (I was petrified. . . ) The New Camera dialog doesn't have an option to use a camera group: But once you have a new camera, you can then change its source to a group: I did not see a way to edit the layout, and right now...

Full ALPR Database System for Blue Iris!

Is anyone else seeing failures to read .dat files? Right after I got LPR working again on Sunday, 1/31/26, I drag-dropped a .dta file onto BI's AI Inspector, and it worked. But today, when I drop a .dat file onto 6.0.1.30, I get: It's definitely a good .dat file, or at least the AI read was...

Point to Point Wireless Bridge Recomendations

I got the "B" bridge installed today, with a new camera. That allowed me to repurpose the off-axis camera that was formerly pointed at the southern driveway on Western, to the choke point between the two lots: Both cameras are capturing good plates during the daytime. I still need to work on...

What's the best FREE video editing s/w for 2024?

DaVinci Resolve can composite as many cameras as you like: and it's free. But it has an installer, and a hefty one at that, and the learning curve is steep. But it's incredibly powerful.

Courting Coyotes on Thoroughbred Trail? 02/01/26 That little tail flip from the lead coyote at the beginning--is that courting behavior? Looks like it to me, but I'm no expert. If it is courting, behavior, then this is the first confirmation in a year's time that we have a potential mateable...

    Version 6

I find Chrome on iOS to work better than the app, and it's free. I just added a Chrome page to my home screen. The only downside is that it opens a new tab every time I click that icon, so every few days I close a dozen tabs. ‍♂️

LOL! I just noticed that you're using the built-in YOLOv8, whereas I'm using CPAI and its YOLOv5.
