    WebSocketServer.exe?

The problem is that I can't find any extension related to this in my browser. I know it's installed but it's not there. Yours appears as an actual browser extension you can remove?

    WebSocketServer.exe?

Is the only way to uninstall the plugin by deleting the folders? I tried finding it through the settings of my browser but to no avail The other issue is that the plugin is needed to make the NVR UI work more seamlessly, so it's not just about the cameras. Or perhaps the plugin for the NVR is...

    WebSocketServer.exe?

Resurrecting this thread. Is the consensus that we should delete the Torch folder? Wouldn't that nullify the use of the plug-in to perform certain functions? I saw the websocketserver messages when logging into my cameras and of course hit Cancel, but I hate having some unpublished app doing...

    WebGUI interface of my NVR

I have the EmpireTech NVR and S3 turret cams with the latest firmware installed. After playing around with the NVR interface, Edge renders the UI better than IE even with the plug-in installed. There are overlapping issues with IE where Edge doesn't have that issue. With the cameras...

    NHD-888MSDx 16 SONVR-168580H x 1 NVR - new software needed

Thank you. I really appreciate all the advice. Having said this, I suggest dispensing with the patronizing responses to newer people like me who don’t know this stuff. I did search for threads and found this one. I obviously didn’t use the right search terms or didn’t know where to look...

    NHD-888MSDx 16 SONVR-168580H x 1 NVR - new software needed

I used this post because there was talk about using the web plugins. I didn't think my question merited a whole new thread. Anywho, thanks for the response.

    NHD-888MSDx 16 SONVR-168580H x 1 NVR - new software needed

I didn't want to create a new post so I'll use this one. I have the EmpireTech NVR and S3 cams, and it keeps asking me to install their plugins. Are they safe to install? Looks like I should only use legacy Internet Explorer? Here is a VirusTotal scan:

Update to Latest FW or Don't?

Thanks. I just watched the video on it. Looks like a cool feature to me.

    That's Young Grasshopper to you

Update to Latest FW or Don't?

Exact same hardware. I reset the NVR before flashing but not the FULL reset; I retained my login and network settings. Regarding the camera, I just reset it once and then updated the firmware. No issues.

Empire tech wall mount cable notch

    Thanks for sharing

Empire tech wall mount cable notch

This is for the wall mount PFB203W. You can’t rotate it. The notch is only on one side and that’s it.

Empire tech wall mount cable notch

I want to install my turret cam using the wall mount but the notch is on the wrong side for running the cable up my downspout. I’d have to run it around the mount. Has anyone drilled a new notch on a mount before?

Update to Latest FW or Don't?

As a follow-up to this thread, Andy explained to me offline that you have to apply both bin files but in the correct order for the camera. For my IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 cameras, I first applied the EmpireTech IPC bin file and then the camera restarted. Second, I applied the Empire 5 Series bin file...

EmpireTech latest New firmware, Device Guide video, Manual WEB5.0

I can confirm that the upgrade is worth it. Andy - noobie question for you...I see two bin files for camera firmware updates. Which one do I use? Also, is it better to update the camera fw through the nvr or directly using the camera UI?

Update to Latest FW or Don't?

I have the same NVR as you do. I took a risk and updated to the latest firmware. Went fine and I have new stuffs. Take that for what it's worth.

Is this PC a good one for seven 4MB cameras and Blue Iris?

Thanks for telling me about the Wiki...I hadn't seen it before. I was rummaging through posts which is what I typically do first before creating a post.

Blue Iris PC and EmpireTech NVR together?

If I have the NVR with a lot of storage for historical purposes, I suppose I could have less storage on the BI PC since I figure most event analysis would be within a short time frame. Does that strategy make sense? Cost aside, this integration seems to be the most optimal. It would also...

Blue Iris PC and EmpireTech NVR together?

Thanks!! Is there any way for the BI PC to use the video stored on the NVR hard drives to do its thing, or does it need its own storage locally to do that?

Blue Iris PC and EmpireTech NVR together?

So, I have the EmpireTech 8-port PoE AI NVR. If I were to get a Blue Iris PC with dual NICs, could I connect one NIC to the NVR uplink and the other to my network and have both the NVR recording video and Blue Iris as well?

Is this PC a good one for seven 4MB cameras and Blue Iris?

Thanks. eBay has a deal for 15% extra on refurbished PCs, so it would be just about $550 out the door. I'm looking at cheaper options but I'd honestly be saving only like $100-$150 for something decent. This one just seems to be a great value for the money Do nice graphics cards help with BI...

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

So isn’t that an adavantage over an NVR with questionable firmware/security? I’m blocking Internet on my NVR but it would be nice to enable auto updating or even manual updating directly to the Internet.

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

I meant the BI PC has two NICs. The cameras are on a PoE switch which is connected to one of the NICs in the PC. Sorry, my post wasn’t clear.

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

If a Blue Iris PC is on the main LAN with one NIC, and have the cameras on a separate LAN with another NIC, is there any issue from a security standpoint to allow the BI PC access to the Internet to automatically update the OS, BI software and cameras' FW?

    Mounting T54IR-ZE-S3 to soffit

Good advice. What’s dielectric grease and where do you use it? I’m planning on using junction boxes or mounts for every camera to better protect the outside connections. By the way, I’m having a professional low voltage guy do the runs and helping my install the cameras. I just want to have...

    Mounting T54IR-ZE-S3 to soffit

Understood. I'll stick with the heavy duty stuffs. Last thing I'll want to do is re-run new cables throughout my house.
