  • Greetings, I've recently registered in this forum in search for advice in how to do a hard reset to an ip camera HIKVISION ds-2cd1301-i. I've opened the case and revealed the circuit board in search for a hard reset button, but there is no such switch. The only thing I've found is four copper contacts next to a capacitor (see CP38 in attached photo) but I do not know if they serve for hard reset and/or in which combination.

    Any advice will be helpful...

CP38 may possibly be a console serial port. If you have a TTL-to-USB cable, and can determine GND, TX, RX, and VCC values with a digital voltmeter, you can open a PuTTY session to the camera and capture output from the boot process. This console output should give you some indication of the problem.

Wow, You didn't have to take it down to just the board.. do you see anywhere on the board where it says Pins 1 & 2?
