Well, not even 24 hours after I connected the NVR to test and disconnected it, I came home from running errands this morning at 10 am, turned on the monitor and it was displaying channel 1 instead of the camera overview screen. Something is definitely up with this NVR

Hmm. Let's run a test. Reset the NVR back to the overview screen. Leave disconnected from the Internet completely. Monitor for a week, see if it's stable.

If it is, then connect it to the Internet for a few minutes, disconnect and monitor for the next 24hours. If it again goes weird after, and only after, connecting to the net, then it's systematic.

Will do.

Update 2 hours ago: Again, I turned on the monitor, and it was on channel 1 cam instead of the camera overview screen. So, I decided to check the log - it was cleared. Interesting.

I rebooted the NVR and viewed the log. This time it showed all the events associated with the reboot of the NVR. Checked the log and details carefully. All but one camera showed as logged local with no user or group. Curiously, camera 10 shows as logged local, user: default, User Group for the login/initialization. It's the only camera that shows a user and group

Also, are there any peripherals (e.g mouse) plugged directly into the NVR? Might be worth testing with them unplugged in case something as silly as a faulty mouse.

Interesting. Had you started the above mentioned test yet at this point? Was the NVR recently connected?
I did not run a test after running the test above with the NVR connected to the internet. I then disconnected the NVR and less than 24 hours later, I had 2 issues with the screen on channel 1 camera. I have NOT connected the NVR to the net since running the test.

What is concerning is that the LOG was cleared when I first looked after the events. When I rebooted the NVR, events associated with the shutdown and restart of the NVR appeared in the log. Those were the ONLY events in the log.

What is also concerning is that camera 10 was logged into from the user group as user: default. Why would all the other cameras log as local with no user and 10 as a specific user? Seems fishy to me

Only the HDMI port to the monitor and the cameras. I've been disconnecting the mouse when not in use thinking it may be accidentally clicked

If there is, maybe the person can delete this topic. :idk:
What do you mean? As I mentioned, I live with my wife who has no clue how to even view the cameras and is normally at work when the issues happen. I work from home so I'm here all day except for an hour of morning errands. And the office where the equipment is located has a keyed entry device. No one other than me, has the key code.
