The exposed access could have allowed hackers to break into the agency's most secure systems.
CISA claims no one actually used these passwords to break in. But that's like leaving your house unlocked for six months and then saying it's okay because you don't think anyone went inside.
This disaster comes as CISA is already struggling. The agency has been described as chaotic and disorganized, with leadership positions unfilled.

Passwords were stored as plain text in a public GitHub repository.

He fired the CISA director he appointed, and since taking office again, his CISA has been a chaotic farce. Neither of the acting directors he’s appointed so far have been confirmed by the Senate, and Trump has recently sought to drastically cut CISA’s funding.

"The United States...is hereby FOREVER BARRED and PRECLUDED from prosecuting or pursuing...examinations or similar or related reviews" against Trump "or related or affiliated individuals," including family members or related companies and trusts.
He has made himself immune to any financial crime along with his family and related companies. b The declaration itself is illegal and won't stand up.

- Where in US laws does it say the AG can grant waivers to people for future crimes?
- DOJ does not have the authority to pass laws. Period.
- The next administration will flush this agreement down the toilet and resume investigating Trump for tax fraud. They are not beholden to a corrupt agreement coming from a non confirmed AG.
