Hello!

Hey everyone. I'm Brian and I've been lurking for the last few weeks trying to absorb as much information as I can. I'm putting a system in my house that will consist of 5 interior cameras and 6 exterior cameras. Since I'm starting from scratch and am new to this, I was hoping you all can give me peace of mind that I'm going down the right road. I just placed an order from EmpireTech for the following items so that I can get my hands on the core components and use a test rig to try them out.

• NVR: NVR16CH-AI-S2
• 2 interior cameras (one 2.8 mm and one 3.6 mm): IPC-T54IR-AS-S3
• 1 exterior varifocal camera: IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3

I have a PoE switch and haven't bought a hard drive yet (ouch they're expensive). The main question I have in my mind at the moment is whether or not I should go down the road of color cameras considering it's a new system. I'm not a huge fan of the idea of white lights, but I guess I could leave them off. There's not much of a difference in price between the above cameras and the PRO or Color4K series.
