EOM (End of Marketing and Sales) for 5442-S3 announced

Maybe one of those artificial stupidity programs can be unleashed on Dahua and figure out why the company can't figure out how to quit f-ing up new products.

Thread 'EmpireTech Item Name Adding,important'

Hey guys

In order to make our client know easier for the product we sell, will use the Item name instead of Model Name on the amazon list for some cams we sell currently. Camera function/working no change.
So each camera will have a product name and a model No.
IPC-T5442T-ZE model Name, item name is IPC-T54IR-ZE.

IPC(IP Camera)
T(Turret)
5(5 series)
4(4mp)
IR(Infrared Radiation ，Camera illumination way)
Z(Motirized lens)
E(ePOE/POE)
A =Audio
S means SD card.

Yes they are good. They have been the king of the hill since 2019ish. Sadly nothing recently has come close.

Dahua has monthly management competition contests to see who can come up with the worst ideas for new cameras. The winner gets promoted and the losers get sent to re-education centers.

I was thinking about this and I am wondering, this EOM announcement seems to be comprehensive as the final curtain call of these products. There seems to have been little notice prior to the time of this end. Were there prior announcements? Is this the typical way that Dahua handles the discontinuation of products? I lucked into a little unexpected free-RL-time, and this is how I used it.:lol:

Isn't it just ABSURD that the T54PRO should have included Blue and Red strobe lights to begin with?! What is it with IPC-HDW5459T-ZE-IL model which has everything (even same sensor if I'm not mistaken as the T54PRO)

We should put together a "In Memoriam" funeral video for the 5442, DM me your installation pictures, screenshots, video footage all from your 5442's, I will make sure it is accompanied by some sad violin music. We send to Dahua for Testing.

This is actually a very sad situation. :(

The 5442 S3 was awesome according to everyone ... I never had one, had one non-S3 and four 5231's.

They could have come out with a true S3 successor and they would have been more awesome, and been set for years.

I upgraded to five T54Pro's thinking that was the case ... I now sit and wait to see if they ever rectify the situation.

Though to be truly honest, for my specific use case, mostly static viewing the property during the day on TV via the Streamie app, all is fine, but still awaiting the next thing ...

And Surveillance Station with IVS tripwires when anyone enters the property, which isn't bad in my case, and I like the blinking warning lights during the overnight.
