Get rid of your Ring, Arlo, Tapo, Blink (or other cloud cameras) and reclaim your privacy!

I have had some friends ask about non-cloud solutions that do not require an NVR and have remote access. What are people using for SD card cameras and how is remote access achieved?

When I first started this journey going from big box store junk to trying out one of Andy's cameras, I used the SD card and P2P for DMSS.

In my experience, once you get past 3 or 4 cameras, you will want an NVR just to better manage the system.

Ok, I thought I had read that before and that there was a threshold where it made more sense to include proper hardware.
