Hi everyone,

I have two Hikvision DS-2CD1041G0-I cameras and I’m unable to log in to them.

Even though I’m 100% sure the password is correct, the cameras keep rejecting it.

What’s strange is that the same password works perfectly for logging into the NVR.

Is anyone able to help me reset the camera password using XML files (via SADP or another method)?

I would really appreciate any guidance or step-by-step instructions.

Thank you in advance for your help!

What's the firmware version the camera is using?
If between 5.3.0 and 5.4.0 it should be possible to extract the password using a security vulnerability.
Hikvision's SADP tool will find the cameras and show the firmware version - unless the cameras are connected to NVR PoE ports.
In which case connect the PC running SADP to an unused NVR PoE port.

Thank you for the quick response.

Interestingly, for unknown reasons the cameras have just accepted the password and I’m now able to log in without any issues.

Thanks again for your help and suggestions!

Hi How do I do that? I have V5.3.6 Build 151221 and cant get to reset then at all? Sorry I'm new to this, tried the code generator but no luck at all.
Any help greatly appreciated

That's a suitable vulnerable version of firmware that should allow the camera configuration file to be extracted without the need for credentials.

Assuming that the camera is on the same network with the same IP address range as the PC, in other words you can reach the camera web GUI login page with the browser, use this URL in the browser which hopefully will extract a configuration file :

http://<camera_IP_address>/System/configurationFile?auth=YWRtaW46MTEK

Zip up the configuration file and attach here so it can be decrypted and decoded to reveal the admin password.

Thanks for getting back to me.
Sorry networks do my head in.
The PoE address in the NVR is 172.16.01, the cameras are all 192.168.254.xxx and the gateway is 192.168.50.1.
I can't log into any of the cameras at all.
I have tried swapping the gateway to 192.168.254.1 but still cant log onto any, just says time out.
If I run a cat5 from the hub to a camera port on the NVR, I can see the cameras via SADP.
I exported and uploaded a file Camera1.CSV, would that be correct?
Thanks again for any guidance, makes me appreciate my old coax setup.

OK, so the camera is on an NVR PoE port.
Best to run the cable direct from the PC.

the cameras are all 192.168.254.xxx
That's normal for a Hikvision NVR. Temporarily set the PC IP address to 192.168.254.100 and try the URL as specified, using the camera IP address in it.

I'm not sure - the camera should download a file called configurationFile
There is no file attached to the post. You need to zip the file (compress it) to attach it here.

Finally got the file downloaded and zipped. Hopefully it has saved properly and thank you once again for being patient and helping.

Has the file uploaded, I have tried twice but can't see it?

Hi Sorry,
Finally have it uploaded. Just for reference it won't upload from a USB drive.
Also the NVR brand is NUV just for reference.

Well done, you got there!
The file is fine.
The password for admin on the 4 Driveway camera is
dsp12345
Brilliant, Thank you so much for that and putting up with my limited network knowledge.
I checked all 5 are the same, so great, I can update my old system.
I guess its worth doing a factory default reset and setting the NVR up from scratch?
What would you recommend?
I have a later model DS-2CD2363G0-Iu with V5.6.2, but I guess that is harder or impossible to find the password for?
I tried the same line to get the configuration file, but it didn't work with this model, just said access error:404 not found
It was given to me a year or so ago at swap meet.
Thanks again
