Replace Hikvision NVR with ???

The Main Question: I want to replace existing Hikvision NVR. What should I replace it with?


Details:

I have a site with a Hikvision system. It's a 32 channel NVR with 18 Hikvision cameras. 16 cameras in POE ports on the NVR and 2 on the network.

I do not have access to the login info.

Should I replace with another Hikvision NVR? Should I use another brand NVR? Will I have to factory reset all the cameras?

I understand that. We just took over this location and don't have credentials for the NVR. Need to sort that first. So then we can see what cameras work, existing viewing angles, etc... Will most likely also upgrade cameras next.

The questions is, Do we just install a Hikvision NVR because that is what is currently here and the brand of cameras, or should we install a different brand of NVR that will serve us better in the future.
