I am contacting you regarding an issue with my Dahua PTZ PoE camera which no longer has any network connectivity.

Camera model: HD-SD49225T-HN
Age: Approximately 4 years
Installation: Indoor (balcony), no rain or outdoor exposure
Location: Tunisia

Description of the issue

The camera powers on correctly:

  • The motor runs and performs calibration
  • Infrared LEDs turn on
  • The camera powers up both via PoE (RJ45) and with a separate power supply
However, the camera has no network connection:

  • It does not obtain an IP address
  • It is not detected by Dahua ConfigTool
  • Ping does not respond
  • The web interface is not accessible

Tests already performed

  • Factory reset (multiple times)
  • Direct connection to a laptop (no switch or router)
  • Tested with several different Ethernet cables
  • Tested with and without static IP configuration
  • Tested using Dahua ConfigTool
  • Re-terminated the RJ45 connector (cut and crimped a new one)
  • Tested both PoE power and external power supply
In some cases, after a reset, the camera responds to ping 2 or 3 times, then becomes unreachable again.

Additional information

  • Firmware was updated via the web interface about one year ago, and the camera worked normally afterward.
  • There is no burning smell and no visible damage.
  • Ethernet port LEDs (green and yellow) are lit when connected.
  • The camera was purchased new, in its original packaging.
  • It was previously connected using a PoE RJ45 extension cable to a switch and a NAS server.
Given that the camera powers on correctly but the network interface does not function, I would appreciate any technical guidance or repair directions you could provide (for example: components to check, known failure points, or recommended tests).

Thank you in advance for your support and assistance.

Assuming that the multiple hard resets you stated that you performed set the IP to the default of 192.168.1.108, is that the IP you try to ping from a PC with a NIC on that same subnet of 192.168.1.XXX ?

Thanks for your response.

After the reset, I started a continuous ping to the IP 192.168.1.108.
The connection goes through a switch: sometimes the ping replies (I received 4 reply lines), then nothing at all afterwards. It stays like that.

I also tried to access the web interface while the ping was responding, but no success.
I even tested by connecting the device directly to my PC: same result.

So it would seem that there's no possibility of another device set to the same IP of 192.168.1.108........

Of course, I assigned a different static IP address to my PC, so there shouldn’t be any conflict :)
