Hikvision PTZ + Motion Detection 2.0: DS-7616NXI-I2/S vs DS-7716NXI-I4/S?

Hi guys,


I’m looking for some advice on adding human/vehicle detection (Motion Detection 2.0 / AcuSense) to my setup.

Current setup​

• 4x Hikvision DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3 (PTZ)
• Cameras only support basic motion detection (no person/vehicle filtering)

Goal​

I want:

• Human & vehicle detection on all 4 cameras
• Proper event labels in Hik-Connect playback timeline (person / car / other)
• Use an NVR to add AI features to my “non-AcuSense” cameras

NVRs I’m considering​

• DS-7716NXI-I4/S
• DS-7616NXI-I2/S
• (preferred due to budget)

Main question:
Is the DS-7616NXI-I2/S powerful enough to provide Motion Detection 2.0 / human-vehicle classification on all 4 channels and show it correctly in Hik-Connect?
Or is the DS-7716NXI-I4/S the better/safer choice?

UniFi AI Port test​

I tested 2x UniFi AI Port, but the image quality was noticeably worse than the native Hikvision stream.
Any idea why? (sub-stream usage, transcoding, bitrate limits, etc.)

Open to suggestions​

If there’s a better solution (different NVR, camera-side AI, VMS software, etc.), I’m open to ideas.
