Dahua please.. start copy & paste from Unifi.. Not from Hik-Vision...

Hik-Vision (and Dahua) don't offer anything from 2025 in his UI & UX.. Not even from 2015...

Since I have 2 of them for sale I was thinking to play with one and explore new futures. But I guess no luck for me
 
I've been using NVR 5 for quite some time now and I honestly prefer it over NVR 4. No bugs faced so far (at least that I can see lol)
 
Just firing up a newish 5216-16P-EI2 (S2) running June 2025 NEW V5 FW I bought from Andy some months back.

Any idea on either of the 2 newer FW;s on Dahua Intl site being any good? (11/25 and 12/25)

Trying to get FD/FR working on Recorder (its creating the event but not the database?)

And can't seem to download a mp4 from Playback, only .DAV files?

Having played with it a bit for 2 days, I have to say its not as functional as V4. Things that should be simple are now complicated, some things flat don't work.

Plugin is absolutely required for many functions. But it slows the actions in the intrerface and sometimes just wont load them without a refresh.

I'll give it the week and maybe it will improve, but so far it looks to be a lot like the 54PRO, more show than go

Any ideas on why it wont allow me to create a Face Database?

It is capturing faces, but wont create a DB

I have FD and FR toggled ion "By Recorder" and on the camera only IVS with a single rule.

Yes, i am watching on it, i also have some bugs reply from other customers, i will submit together.
 
Something I dont expect they'll "fix" as its just the way its designed, but playback of a normal channel, looking for an IVS event to download is clunky at best and much less convenient than the V4 process.

Now I use SmartPSS Lite for 99% of my playback/review/download so its not a dealbreaker, but for those vast majority that use the NVR onlty and barely know how to operate it, are going to find it frustrating.

1- You used to be able to use a slider to zoom in on the timeline.
That was too easy so they complicated it by making you choose a timeframe. The timeline starts at 24hours naturally so locating the event and then choosing timeframes to get to a point where you can see it and download it takes longer

2- Playback of "Event Video" (IVS, SMD, Audio alerts) craps out and just doesnt work. I've tried 3 browsers and Edge with/without IE plugin

Much like the 54PRO, this seems to be Beta firmware,

Dahua appears to be using us, and more importantly their distributors and installers as beta testers.

How many will install this buggy fw for customers and move on?
