Hallo all,
I would be grateful for some advice regarding configuring my CCTV system to avoid false alerts.
I have a Hikvision NVR104-A and 4 Annke C500 cameras, connected via ONVIF. I also have the guarding vision app and the annke equivalent, which I'm using to get motion detection alerts whilst away from home.
Unfortunately there's a lot of false alarms, from spiders, rain, cats etc. The NVR doesn't seem to have any human detection facilities (with the annke cameras attached via ONVIF, anyway; there is a "dual vca" setting but it says there are no suitable cameras) so I've tried using the human detection in the cameras along with the annke vision app but this is no better; even if I turn the sensitivity right down to 20% in the cameras, they produce exactly the same false alerts as the NVR does (with the NVR sensitivity at 100%).
I'm wondering if (a) the motion detection settings in the NVR are somehow interfering with those in the cameras via ONVIF (in which case I'm probably screwed as I need the NVR to record events) and (b) whether there would be any advantage in flashing the cameras with the appropriate Hikvision firmware (maybe dual vca would then work?), which I've read may be possible but may not be advisable.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Best regards,
Chris
