The 2231 doesn't have the human/vehicle filters does it? If not, it will detect animals. Same thing for the 5442-S2 using very old firmware. Now if you're asking for animal detection without all the false alarms for spider webs, blowing leaves, rocks that the camera thinks have moved, and so forth, neither of those models will detect animals with IVS, even if they're dancing right in front of the camera.
