Crashing on startup due to clip export

Hello,

I have been using BI for almost a week now, running great. Today however I encountered an odd issue, and I don't want to try to reinstall or wipe or whatever, as it took me a lot of time to tweak settings. I attempted to export a short clip - like 20-40 seconds - via the ui3 interface. It seems it broke something, and now every time I start BI it attempts to continue the export, and it crashes immediately. I tried moving the clips dir - it recreates it automatically - changed the existing file to read only, still crashes. Deleted the empty export file, and it is agian recreated and BI crashes. Is there any way to edit the db or whatever and cancel this export or manage to resolve this without having to reinstall/wipe it completely?

p.s. ok, I managed to "resolve it" by renaming the stored videos folder - this way it had no source to export/clip from, and I guess it cancelled the export. However wtf - why would this make the whole app crash, and am I even able to export videos or should I just not do that? It was literally a 20 seconds clip, not something 3 hours long.

I'm seeing something similar. When I try to export from UI3, it never actually exports the clip. I canceled that and tried to export from within BI itself and every time I do, BI crashes. I don't see anything in the log about the crash and I don't know how to enable debug logging.

Yep, all I saw was an app error in the Event Viewer but it was not useful to pinpoint the issue. Then I remembered I started to export a clip sometime ago, and realized that this may be causing the crash, so I checked the destination dir and noticed the 0 bytes file.. Maybe I will test an export later again, to see if it suceeds. I was hoping for it to be a "known issue" and someone to provide a fix/workaround.

I went through and tried a dozen different export settings, including using the default button. I was originally trying to export an hour from a camera, but even tried exporting down to just 10 or 15 seconds. Every time I click the button to start the export, the GUI crashes out.

Did a google search and ran across this thread. I was attempting to export a 36 second clip and now BI keeps crashing in a loop, each time generating another 0KB MP4 file on my desktop.

Rename your stored videos dir while BI is closed and then rerun it. This fixed the crash for me. After that you can move the stored videos to the newly created folder. I haven't tried another export since then as I don't have time to deal with crashes right now.

I reinstalled the lastest stable from the update screen in BI, then reinstalled the current version and it's now letting me export clips. Was even able to export 8 hours as a timelapse without any issue.
