I believe it would help to drop coverage for convenience abortions, sex change procedures, a bunch of other not medically necessary items I don't have memorized, plus the added bureaucracy. This added bureaucracy has destroyed the independent doctor model. Almost all of them work for corporations now, with departments of previously unnecessary droids to handle the paperwork and regulations. In my town there were 3 orthopedic businesses before ACA, now thanks to the bureaucracy, there is one. There used to be two large cancer treatment organizations, now it's down to one. In addition to fixing a few major problems, the ACA destroyed the whole big-picture medical system and turned it into something more expensive and less responsive. The promise of keeping your doctor and keeping your insurance exposes the whole thing as a big lie. But I agree there's no going back. The system is permanently wrecked.
The Hospital systems and Insurance companies did that, not the ACA. Ask your doctor.
