I just built a new Blue Iris PC. Before, I was running Blue Iris on an old (2013) home built system with a 4th gen i5. I ran that thing 24/7 and didn't really care if it gave up on me since it was so old. Now with my new system, I'm wanting to maybe have some hardware monitoring software. Something basic like CPU temp and fan speed monitoring. Is anyone else doing something like this? I was thinking maybe something I could check with my phone from time to time. I have pretty good fan curves set up in the bios but it would be nice to know whats going on with the new system without looking in the bios each time.

Any experiences?

Using a helper script it should be possible to put the CPU temperature into a text overlay on a Blue Iris camera. That might be interesting. But I am lazy these days and would not want to take the time to code that up since I don't really care that much myself. Maybe someone has already built this.

I ended up using a smart plug and attached a phone wall charger to it to plug in this monitoring phone. I created an automation in home assistant that charges the phone for two hours, then turns off for four hours. It's on a repeat schedule Monday through Sunday. That way the phone isn't just cooking on the charger 24/7.

Maybe I missed it in the video, but how is the phone getting the data from the computer? Is it Bluetooth, WIFI, or cloud?
