Hi everybody! New Win11 Pro install with Blue Iris 5. The software initially worked, but then, stopped responding. I uninstalled and reinstalled, and no help. I get the splash screen that says "good morning" and "creating window" , and after that, the splash screen disappears and nothing happens. It's not a crash per se - it just doesn't load. Once in a blue moon, the program screen will show up, but then disappears right away. Is there any troubleshooting tips you could provide that I could try to remedy this?
Have you looked in the windows application event logs to see what it says? Are there any log files in "C:\Blueiris\log" folder (that is the default log file location, yours may possibly be different! there might be some txt files with the format yyyymm.txt
Unfortunately Blue Iris is awful at logging crashes. If you feel so inclined, you can collect the event logs from the Event Viewer and report them to Blue Iris support according to the instructions in Blue Iris's help file (which is a PDF in the Blue Iris 5 directory). But sending a support request kind of requires Blue Iris to be working well enough for you to use the "Get Support" button in Blue Iris settings...
Here's what I recommend. Open the registry editor (regedit). Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Perspective Software. Right click the "Blue Iris" folder and Export it. This will be your registry backup and it will be important if you get around to contacting Blue Iris support about this issue; they will want to see the registry settings you had. Now expand the Blue Iris folder and delete the Cameras folder inside it. See if this makes it work. If not, delete everything from the inside of the Blue Iris folder except "Registration", and try again. That is kind of the nuclear option but it should let you reconfigure from scratch. If the crashes come back, hopefully you can identify exactly what you did just before the crash so you can tell Blue Iris support.
(of course my suggestion above is to delete your current settings so you can start over)
