Does anyone else use ZeroTier? It had been rock solid for me for a LONG time now until about 2 or so weeks ago. Up until then, it was always connect and done. Now, even though ZT shows that it's connected, it can take a lot of tries and reconnects for BI to connect. Once BI connects, it's all good but it's getting to the point that I'm getting frustrated with it. This is on multiple mobile devices and 3 different mobile carriers...

Not a current user of ZT as it would not do subnets which is required when using BI that has no internet connection. i.e. the TS app resides on the Asus router.

Thus went to Tail Scale which works well for my needs.

In your case, try TS and see it if performs better than ZT for your application. Both have free plans.

I use ZT and usually have to try deploying it on my phone a couple times before it stays on. yesterday I tried and it actually deployed first try. wonder if it has to do with cell service area?

I use both ZT and TS from my laptop to connect to BI when off planet. No issues with either.

Use ZT on my iPhone to get to BI. No issues lately. Just got back from a 4 week and did not have any issues with ZT. But in the past, I have had to reinitialize it on my iPhone to get it to connect.

Thanks all!

I installed TailScale on my BI box and on my Android phone. It was super-simple. I'm blown away by how much faster it is than ZT. I usually test things more before I delete what I was using, but I've already deleted ZT from everything. :p

I had that exact issue a couple weeks ago and just brushed it off. After reading your comments I just tired to connect to BI using ZT. Again it took several attempts to get it to connect.

I had similar issues with ZeroTier. I think the slowdown happens when it can't establish a direct tunnel so it has to use a relay server provided by ZeroTier themselves. But ZeroTier's client apps are too simplistic and don't show you the per-peer connection status. I think Tailscale has exactly the same issue but they either have faster relaying infrastructure or just more robust tunneling methods. I'm not sure which.

sharing what happened once. other times just seemed to stall- never got to any screen.

hoping a switch to tailscale is the answer. i'm on vacation so having kittens with this issue on both my w11 laptop and android cell tablet.

Assume you are using a web browser to view UI3 on TS and that the URL has the port number included? Also had issues with ZT and now only use TS for connecting via cell to UI3.

I just got back from vacation. Using Zerotier was painful while gone because it took many multiple tries to connect each time I wanted to view my cameras. It would always eventually connect but what a pain in the arse.

I was using Zerotier and had the same issues you were. I switched to Tailscale about a month ago and since then I never had anymore connection issues
