New Hikvision NVR 5.0 is a disaster

I recently purchased a new Hikvision 7608 NVR that runs the new 5.0 software as it has been nothing but a disaster.

Web access of this NVR just does not work and is so full of bugs it is effectively useless. Some of the issues I have encountered:

1. I just could not get the Web access to work with encrypted streams. I had to turn off encrypted stream to get anything to work.
2. Live view just will not show up any camera video. It will work when I hit full-screen but wont work with a 2x2 matrix. Tested on multiple PCs and multiple browsers with the same behaviour. Tried both TCP and UDP, different resolutons, sub and main videos all with the same results. (yes I have installed the plugin).
3. Playback just wont work reliably. Keeps showing errors, freezing
4. Numerous other bugs, errors and other messages.

Everything seems to work find on the local NVR (with a monitor plugged in) but I need to use this NVR at the remote site so the local access is not suitable. I wanted to be able to access the video streams and recordings via web access.

Some NVR's in the past have been limited to displaying camera feeds based on the total amount of resources the cameras are using.
If you have everything at 30 FPS and and UHD or 4K, some NVR's will not show more than 1 or 2 images on a remote feed.
Not saying this is the case, but
How maxed out is the NVR? If it's like an 8 channel, and you have 8 cameras, sometimes only 1/2 will have AI available, or less than a 1/2 will have 30FPS@4K available

I have a 8ch and I am only using 4 cameras @ 25FFS (8MP). I have lowered the FFS without any improvement

I upgraded to a Hikvision NVR running the V5.0 software about 2 years ago... definitely ups and downs over the past 2 years, but all-in-all the web GUI worked satisfactorily until a Chrome/Edge update in August:

Chrome / Edge version V139 update causes a white screen in the web video window

There is a thread regarding it here:

You can see in that thread that users had lots of different results/solutions trying to fix the problem... I was able to get the web GUI live view working (your point #2), but because I primarily use the NVR console, I did not notice that playback was not working reliably until a few weeks ago (as you mention in point #3).

At this point, I don't think there is any way to "fix" this until either a new Chrome/Edge update or new "plugin" update is released :(
