I have an Amcrest indoor camera IP2M-841B-V3 mounted outside under the roof overhang. There it is protected from sun and rain, nevertheless the image got blurry after 4 years.

So I'm looking for an replacement. It should have all the same features as my IP2M-841B-V3 (no cloud, RTSP, FTP, PT(Z), black, LAN, 5 or 12VDC supply, about same dimensions, angle of view <90°), but should be an outdoor camera.

Can anybody recommend me a decent, reliable camera?

Joachim

Are you using it in wifi mode or do you have ethernet to it?

Stand alone or connected to an NVR?

Thank you.
Ethernet is available and preferred. WiFi might work as well.
No NVR. The camera observes the house door and sends clips to the NAS, when motion is detected.

For occasional instant views I use the Onvier app or the PC browser.

The IP2M-841B-V3 already has a slightly too wide view for my application, so the new camera should have less or equal than 90° or zoom.

As you’re already familiar with Amcrest I’d stick with them. They have a number of outdoor cameras on their website

Problem with Amcrest is, they are not represented in Germany. 4 years ago, I had to order the IP2M-841B-V3 in the US.

They are great little cameras. too bad they aren't made for outdoors.
4 years is long enough for a repurposed $39 camera. :)
Can you login into Amazon and see them? Thats where i got mine. i have had 3. one in a 100F boiler room, one in a 80F tool shop. now one at home.
Are you able to shop international on Ebay? Amcrest Direct is there as well.

Meanwhile I thought I could replace the blurry cam under the roof overhang with the one in my garage, that still shows a good image.
After 20 minutes on a 4 meter ladder this was done and after cleaning the lens of the camera, most of the blur (if not all) is gone.
Anyway it is good enough for the garage purpose.

Problem solved with zero spending. :)

My Ancestors hail from North Rhine-Westphalia-Siegen and Baden-Württemberg/Ravenstein-Oberwittstadt.
Maybe we should take up a collection and ship you an 841 for Christmas. :)

What a nice idea! :thumb:
... especially as I live in Mainz, right in the middle between Siegen and Ravenstein-Oberwittstad. :)
