The official "WTF" thread

Remember when Elon fired 90% of twitter employees, mostly female. Below video from Microsoft India.

Interesting...

When working for a former employer, I was sent to their India office for a week. I saw a lot of the same stuff. They provided drivers for most employees (not everyone wanted a car, with they way they "drive" there, using the term very lightly), they get in to the office at 9:00 or 9:30, proceed to have provided breakfast for an hour, do some work, then take a long lunch. Afternoons were a little busier, but they still didn't seem to do half as much as we would in the US office.

But they are cheap, so the bean counters love it. The measure cost, not value.

I fully believe this ..

what I saw in the USA for the too big to fail financial companies, as well as the health care .. was that they would lay off USA workers and replace with cheap H1B and L1 visa workers from India, and have extensive remote workers in India.

In general the average quality of the workers which replaced the USA workforce I saw was very poor, basically just out of school.

The managers tended to be significantly better.

However in NO WAY did this meet the H1B requirements of finding workers with skill sets which Americans did not have.

Job postings for H1B positions where purposefully posted with rates significantly under what the position should have been paid.

You would think this would be great for the Indian workers, and it was good for them .. however Infosys, Tatas, and Wipro, all took the lions share of the wages and the workers were basically living in dorm like conditions. The married ones did not even make enough money to get a car soon enough and had to have their wives drive on the bus to go to the grocery store.

Still the Indians made a ton of money if they lived frugally and saved to take it back home.

H1B and L1 visas were basically a 100% con job on the American workers ..

If illegal immigration matters to you for taking American jobs and your tax money, then this H1B and L1 off shoring American jobs should piss you off majorly.

USA only needs a fraction of what they currently allow.

Maybe the people making this request or the people that respond could donate one of their arms or legs instead.

Fuck deportation. This fucker needs to be double-tapped out of existence.

Then you have the Foxconn sweat shops.

So...here's a storyline for a new video game... NATO dissolving and Europe uniting under a private military corporation.
