Criminal spy camera inside Logitech mouse

Ever heard of a keylogger? Your keyboard could also be exploited, lol

Live life large

Sure have! AT&T loves keyloggers for its employees. Spying for the goverment is one of its specialties.

Could anyone please help me with my remaining questions #38?

Thank you!

There's a huge gap between what is possible and what is likely/practical. Your mouse camera, while possible, is far from practical since it can easily be defeated by rotating the mouse about 10 degrees. At that point, any camera that could view the screen would no longer be pointed at the screen, rendering the camera useless. There's too many things that would need to go right to consider your concern a legit concern.

Someone makes privacy films that limit the view angle of the monitor, that should help :)

Oh wait never mind this probably does not block microwaves. Back to square one again.

My remaining questions was regarding:

It was my understanding, that the only data a mouse holds, is the firmware, and that new data can't be added / written to a mouse. (this is a mouse that has not been manipulated with)
-
Whats your opinion on this?

Your example of the hidden drive, proves that installing new hardware, can make the mouse contain new data - that could be malware or some malicious code.
-
But in the article, the system recognizes the manipulated mouse a new drive.
How would you counter that?
It would require, that you change the firmware of the added hardware / drive?

You could add a tiny computer with its own cellular data connection, using power from the existing USB cable, all with the resources available to a typical high school kid. The most challenging part would still be adding a camera with a useful image without the lens being terribly obvious to the user.
Do you know if this kind of system exist? (I am not looking for a source or link)
And if so, would it be easily obtainable for the average person - or would it need to be build from scratch?

Thank you

Yes. It is all possible.

All of it. Every single question.

Anyone who wants to manipulate mouse firmware or install a hidden camera will put in the time and effort to do it.

Is it plausible? Not at all. There are way more efficient ways of gathering screen information than a camera in a mouse.
