no there have never been cameras hereUnplug it and see what stops working lol.
Any chance it went to a camera at some point and now nothing connected to it?

yeah I'll have to try and figure out where it's going. I'll check the in/out regarding the LAN as you suggest. Certainly a mystery to me.On the injector the grey is likely plugged into "LAN" and the blue into "POE" and that "POE" powers the device at the other end of that blue cable and also brings back its data and pipes it into "LAN" via the grey.
As wittaj said, if nothing on the end of that blue then you're just wasting some power and money.
I am late to the party for previous posts... POE power injectors are used for variety of POE devices. Yes, for IP cameras...but also wireless access points, IP telephones, any network device that requires DC that is not plugged into an AC outlet. Do you have Elon Musk's "Starlink" or satellite dish? They could also be POE needing a POE injector.Hi Wittaj,
I posted a picture of my switch on page 3 and was told it was just a network switch and not POE but I've just noticed that injector - so it doesn't make any sense to me. There are no cameras plugged into it yet, just ethernet cables that run through the house
I've just figured it out - it's going to some sort of internet signal booster mounted on the ceiling (maybe that's the WAP you are talking about) - it's a 3 floor building . You nailed it again !I am late to the party for previous posts... POE power injectors are used for variety of POE devices. Hey LooneyEasy to upgrade ram after the fact. It's cheap. Me, if your going to upgrade ram, go to 32gb.
It has space for 2nd nic and will hold one 3.5" surveillance rated HD, plus an NVME ssd drive.
A PCIe card of 1X is ample.Hey Looney
I'm working with someone to get the computer but they've asked me a question I'm not sure about. Can you help answer it please ? They are asking what form factor for the NIC card, they said "The NIC would usually be a size like x1, x4, x8, or x16"
Yes, a 3.5" form factor HDD (spinning, not solid state) which is surveillance-rated, such as a WD Purple, is preferred for video clips. They also asked about the HD but I see you already stated 3.5
Thanks for your help
