Who's going to keep the vandals away from those solar panels? Maybe when triggered it'll release a hungry, pissed-off pit bull that lives in a drawer that pops out from behind the "ring" logo?
Spray paint sales at Home Depot should double with this release.
And just wait until word gets around in the crack-head community that these are built with MORE and better recycleable materials that yield even MORE cash than the puny Flock LPR's!
Any tech reason (electrical/electronic) why the solar panels could not be installed up higher, perhaps above the cameras in order to defy direct vandalism of the panels?
I can see that a ferocious wind can push on them and the taller the mast the more leverage they'd have but just a little would help. The heavy batteries and charge equipment in an secure, armored box at the bottom (as show) PLUS perhaps some anchors could help prevent tipping by the wind.
Could a wind-driven charger be added up there to help with those overcast days that don't recharge the batteries well?
The panels when placed above the cameras could help shelter them from direct rain and sun, perhaps extending their life.

Some flexible panels can have a tendancy to suffer micro-cracking.
Many rigid panels are pretty tough as they're designed to withstand hail etc. It's just a question of getting them high enough. It's probably possible to protect the rear of the panels with Polycarbonate sheeting although heat could be an issue. Maybe ventilate it with a lot of eg 8mm holes?
Is panel vandalism really a problem especially for CCTV installations? In the UK we have ground mounted panels on signage and I've never heard of one being vandalised although I'm sure it's probably happend at some point.

I've think they've tried those as well, probably too heavy to run away with and difficult to conceal. Don't forget UK has CCTV everywhere. I guess carrying a bag probably makes them too easily identifiable. I don't know but I imagine they go down streets with no cameras then change appearance. Hard to do with a large bag or saw.
