been jumping in and out of this thread for ages now...
what was the supposed to be the benefit of the IL series over the pro? same sensor I beleiv?

I can't tell you that. What I do like, though, is the 0.15-meter close-focus distance.
Speaking only for the fixed focus turret versions:
1. Smaller than the PRO. Same ball size as the 5442 fixed focal.
2. Available in 6mm version, which the PRO is not.

Correct. I have a 6mm HDW5459TM-ASE-IL, side-by-side with a 6mm T541-AS-S3 in order to make head-to-head comparisons. I also have a -PRO, but with no way to make good comparisons.

Presuming the video of the cat you posted is from the 54pro-AS, I could definitely be happy with those results. Other than the IR from the camera, what other lighting was present? I see a small light near the doorway, anything else for lighting in this scene? Oh, and was this 2.8mm version?

Only the Reolink Doorbell with ir. The Pro as is 2.8mm.
As far as I know, the US has no access to Dahua products. I guess there will be an EmpireTech equivalent?

Y'all need to hire Kamala Harris to draw the world's most complicated Venn diagram to keep up with all of these crap Dahau names/crap versions/crap parts/crap revisions/crap posts (excluding mine, of course) that damn near maybe ten people on Planet Earth have even a 5% idea what you're discussing.
