Add enough light, IR or white, and most any camera can get a good image

You are correct. You don’t hear it on the recording because I don’t have a mic on the ptz, but at that moment in the recording I have an IVS tripwire on the Color4k-x (mounted on my garage) that is playing the sound of a growling dog. I have sound effects on some of my cameras just to get a reaction and hopefully get someone to look back.

Great image above by the way with the sign on fence :rofl: - joking aside, firstly what settings are on that 54Pro, firmware version and also does it have some IR assistance? the still you posted looks better than the video. Appreciate the information if you have time.

My thoughts exactly! only to find it is a 54Pro, hence why I requested settings and firmware etc, maybe additional IR from other cameras or illuminator. Not bad at all, I know the guy has what looks like a white t-shirt and fence panels possibly bouncing some light around, even so.

Run the 54PRO in B&W/IR mode with the White Lights on.... it can look pretty good.

So can a 5442 with white lights on in IR

I suspect that when AI added the sign, it also took the liberty to AI clean the entire image as well, and said person may or may not look like that in real life.

Why I am hesitant to use any camera that relies on AI video processing. I want the image to actually look like the person even if a little noisy than a clean image that doesn't look like the perp.

That is a fair point! did not cross my mind but should have done. After cross checking it does have some extra pop and NR, still the logo on the shirt looks to be close if not identical to original footage shared by @tmxv4128 , which begs the second question, which Ai tool was used for this LOL :lmao:

I could have easily rendered the sign on the fence with Photoshop, but instead I opted to use ChatGPT. Ha ha, I was lazy. Regarding the settings on the 54PRO, I recently swapped out that camera for a B54IR-ZE-S3 overlooking the paper street behind my back fence. The B54IR just works a lot better than the 54PRO at night. During the daytime the 54PRO is the winner, but since that area behind the fence has no additional illumination at night, the B54IR provides a better image of moving subjects. I think the reason the video from the 54PRO looks halfway decent is that the house directly behind mine was recently renovated and sold. One of the things they did was to add a new wood fence around the property before they flipped it. The fence acts as a giant softbox for the camera’s IR light; so it worked out quite well for the video I posted—much better than other locations around the house where I have setup the camera. I don’t use the white light with the 54PRO—only IR because once the white light turns on, the AI features click on and distort everything, even though I have AI processing turned off in the camera. I am currently using the V3.146.0000000.8.R.260720 firmware, but when the video I uploaded was made, I was using V3.146.0000000.6.R.260401. I think the reason the screenshot I uploaded looks better than the video I posted is that I took the screenshot of the video playing in my video editor FinalCutPro at full resolution and compressing the 1.7GB video to 19.7MB and downsizing the resolution to 1920x1080 made it look worse. The uncompressed 1.7GB video looks a lot better than what I posted here. The camera settings: AI-ISP “off”, AI SSA “off” brightness “50”, contrast “56”, sharpness “15”, gamma “50”, exposure 0-6ms, gain 0-50, Iris “100”, 3D NR “30”, 2D NR “29”, Illuminator “IR Mode, auto, face priority” Encoding H.264.H, General, 15 FPS, 15 I-Frame, 16384 Bit Rate

I think that this video is a good demo of the much improved dynamic range I also see in the -IL. Based on my observations, with an S3 the bright flowers would be an even brighter big blob, and between that and the light next to the door, the camera would reduce brightness leaving the cat darker.
