I did an update to my router (Asus RT-AX57) a few days ago. It is now blocking access to a website: Hertzcarsales.com WTH??? I can go to Hertz.com... but not hertzcarsales.com. I assume this is my router misbehaving in some way, as every computer on my lan get's THIS response when trying to go to that site, and, I CAN go to the site using my phone on cell data. 4 different browsers, incognito mode, incognito with TOR, doesn't matter...

In the router, I whitelisted the url within "Malicious Site Blocking"
I checked DNS on my computer and on the router.
I double-checked to see if I got an assigned ISP IP that is blacklisted (not an issue).

What the hell am I missing here???

Part of the update process for the firmware was to do a full Factory RESET on the hardware. I really did not want to do that, but it was necessary. After doing that and then going through the process of blocking all my cams from the internet again, I restarted the "AiProtection" software, and all is working properly again.

I'd like a dollar for the times since the 80's I've had to resort to the old <CNTL>< ALT>< DEL>, press the reset button or power cycle a device after spending hours wanting to discover "WHY?" before doing that so that I could learn something or feel like I actually fixed it....then finally I'd give in with "what the heck" and do it because I needed it to be working again! :banghead:

Well.... it lasted a little while, and then came right back.

Time for a new router??? What should I get?

If you're using OpenDNS DNS servers 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220, change to Google DNS 8.8.4.4 and 8.8.8.8.
I was USING 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 when I got Access Denied again and could not break through it.

I changed it to another DNS provider and got that access back.... What a damned weird-ass issue! (I will update with the DNS I switched to after a bit...)

Using "DNS4EU" servers:
86.54.11.100
86.54.11.200

built-in DNS options in the router...
