Vikylin and Dahua compatibility issues with NVR

Purchased a Vikylin PTZ camera with the understanding I could use it with my Dahua NVR and DMSS App. So far, that isn't the case. I can see the video stream but I have zero PTZ function within the DMSS App, anyone have any solutions or suggestions?

Have you logged into the PTZ's embeded webGUI, enabled ONVIF and created a username and password for the ONVIF user?

You are 100% correct, I was finally able to get it setup and operational late last night. I wasn't clear what the ONVIF user functionality did but it worked and everything is operational in the DMSS App. Thanks!

Another question on "Favorite Points" with the PTZ. On my other off-branded cameras I could save new points, edit and so on. This Vikylin has 255 pre-saved points and although it looks like they are being deleted they just come back. It won't let me edit or add new points as it thinks the count is already full.....any ideas?

By "points" I asume you're referring to PTZ "presets" and if so, can you log into the camera's embeded webGUI using Internet Explorer and change them?

IE is "hiding" in Win 10 and 11, get back to us if you need to know how to "UNhide" it and run it.

Ok, unclear what unhide means but I'm willing to try anything.

Yes, I'm referring to the saved locations, I have other PTZ cameras but I've never had one with 255 pre-saved meaningless locations that I can't delete from within the DMSS App, these Vikylin cameras are a bit glitchy. Hopefully the webGUI helps remove these saved points. Thanks again.

How to enable native Internet Explorer in Windows 10 and 11:

Open Notepad:
  • Copy then paste the single line of code below into Notepad:
  • CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application").Visible=true
  • Save as OpenIE.vbs
  • Make sure the the file name ends in .vbs not .txt, If it ends in .txt you must rename to .vbs
  • Create a shortcut to the above file and double-click it anytime you want native Internet Explorer.

Looking for some guidance and suggestions on a way forward....

With @TonyR assistance I was able to get the Vikylin branded camera mostly working, still having a couple issues. Appreciate your help TonyR

1. Night time image ghosting (see attached image), there are no light sources in the area and it changes with zoom from bad to worse, it also moves with the camera so I'm assuming a lens issue? Seller offered to remote-in and check settings but I wasn't comfortable with CN logging in, although I appreciated the offer. Thoughts?

2. Camera motion detection just doesn't work for some reason, but I will get a "Scene Change" notification where it's detecting motion (normally motorcycles or bicycles) across the entire view range and not within the selected area for motion.

Happy with the clarity and overall function but certainly experiencing quirks I'm not a fan of, seller will accept a return but wanted to get some opinions on what everyone thinks? Return it or deal with these issues they are likely operator error or just part of buying budget CN cameras for consumer use. Thanks!

What model Vikylin PTZ is the one producing the above image?

Assuming the lens is clear and clean it may be IR bounce-back.
Their ad says "328 feet night vision" which indicates some pretty powerful IR.
If not IR then it may be condensation inside the lens.

Thanks again, I did clean the exterior of the lens to be sure it was clean. Maybe it is caused by the IR as it seems to only impact night and low light situations. If I zoom in/out it does change the ghosting image size.
