There are many sources of "unevenness" like driveways, and the sidewalks are not maintained as well as the streets and one end is higher or shifted, large cracks, cars...

    It is my interpretation that WiFi vs wired refers ONLY to network connectivity and does not refer to power at all. Both WiFi and wired cameras come with the common A/C plug with 12V converter, Wired cameras usually have PoE (Power over Ethernet) option available.
