It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

Ok, looks like some good improvements in this EA firmware. If I disable Substream 2 and 3 in the native camera interface, they still seem to appear as options in Protect. Maybe disabling them does not hide them when read over via ONVIF. Either way, it's nice being able to choose the default Main...

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

Ok, that makes sense, I see an entry in the release notes about improvements to ONVIF for 3rd party cameras. I'm going to update and will report back.

What version of Protect are you on? I am on 7.1.87 and have none of those options. Are you running an EA firmware?

Are those the settings under the camera itself? I don’t have those at all. Are they paired to AI Port?

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

Can you post some screenshots? I’m doing the exact same setup right now and noticed different options for recording depending on it being paired to an AI Port. Another issue I’m having is the T54IR-ZE-S3 camera is configured to 2560x1440 but it only seems to be coming through at 1920x1080...

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

I set the main stream in the camera interface to 2560x1440 and have no issue pairing two 5442s to a single AI port.

Also take a look at the Ubiquiti Doorbell Lite. $99 and looks good for a doorbell. I picked one up for my install, just have to figure out how to get the wire there now

Not yet. It looks promising though, compared to the setup of Frigate.

I'm in the same boat. I messaged Arjun a few months back because I wanted to know their experience with 3rd party cameras on Unifi Protect. I just picked up 10 Empiretech cameras to rebuild my system and will be using a UNVR with Unifi protect plus 2 AI Ports. I'm planning to integrate with Home...

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

Looks interesting. Hoping someone can test out this project and report back. Almost done building out my UniFi network here otherwise I’d give it a shot. https://github.com/danielwoz/ubiquiti-protect-onvif-event-listener

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

Is this related to the primary stream settings on the cameras being different?

Anyone try this out? GitHub - danielwoz/ubiquiti-protect-onvif-event-listener: A binary that listens to the configured third party cameras for detection events and sets up ubiquiti protect events with thumbnails.

    Ubiquiti UniFi AI Port

I'm currently spec'ing out a full Unifi build for network and Protect. It sounds like you have a lot of experience with 3rd party cameras in Unifi Protect with the AI port. Has the AI port gotten better with later firmware? For a stationary camera without PTZ, is there any idfference between a...
