Experience with Unifi Protect and UNVR Pro

Unfortunately Protect works very poorly with other (non-Ubiquiti) camera's. Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know you can connect ONVIF camera's so Protect can record them 24/7, but nothing else. No camera detections getting through, I believe the NVR's don't do any sort of IVS/detection...

Experience with Unifi Protect and UNVR Pro

It does show how overpriced the Viewport is; here in the EU that thing is priced exactly the same as the NVR Instant (€214,80), but the NVR adds Protect, 3.5" HDD support and a 6-port POE-switch. But their offerings sort of overlap: €214,80 NVR Instant: 15xHD / 8x2K / 6x4K with 3.5" HDD. Runs...

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

That's unfortunate, I thought the 180 camera's were quite popular and an IR version would be very welcome. Now you've piqued my interest.

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

Any hints on a (capable) 180 camera with IR?

    EmpireTech 10th Anniversary (Summer+Prime Day)Sales

PostNL is really testing my patience; it's at the local Dutch customs for 2 weeks already. If that takes more than 30 days, I was told to contact the seller... With UPS, total shipping time is just a matter of days.

IR Hot Spotting Low Tech Fix

Lol, gave it a try and some of my camera's and it actually works great. Much more equal spread of light. EDIT: well; less hot spot, maybe not more "spread".

    EmpireTech 10th Anniversary (Summer+Prime Day)Sales

Nice, same here. But the T180 will be a perfect replacement for a IPC-T54IR-ZE S3 with it's wider view. Will be interesting with it's visible LED instead of IR and no animal trigger. But love to find out what that camera's going to be like :headbang: Thanks Andy for another great lottery! You...

    UNIFI—The Best Option...?

Combine the hardware from Dahua with the UI from Ubiquiti. :headbang: First signs of Ubiquiti opening their ecosystem for other camera's was hopefull because that would do just that; Dahua camera's with a Ubiquiti NVR (and thus their UI). But seems like Ubiquiti isn't going to implement it like...

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

As others are saying; unfortunately not working; just one of the many "quirks" of the Dahua ecosystem. If it would work there wouldn't be a problem; but the fact this toggle is present but not working if very annoying. Dahua shouldn't put it there if it's not working as it should. This results...

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

Yes, that's why I was so happy when Andy came with the new firmware for the S3 camera's. But I'm also considering building an Unraid NAS/server (replacing an old Qnap NAS) and think about running Frigate. Less dependance on detection capabilities of Dahua camera's.

    2025 New Arrivals From EmpireTech

@EMPIRETECANDY So just to check; there is no new 180/dual lens IR camera coming? (Like the Color4K-T180 but with IR or dual light instead of visible LED only or like a 180/dual lens version of the Color4M-T?) It is a shame animal detection is so little of importance; I mean the checkbox is even...

    Camera recommendations for Europe

To be fair; I haven't bought anything from Andy lately, it's all camera's I won with the lotteries. ;) Including his last lottery. I don't think I have any paperwork of these import costs still around, but I can check tomorrow.

    Camera recommendations for Europe

Didn't know he had 2 different shipping methodes. All things from him came delivered in about a week to The Netherlands with often a ~€10 import cost (from the shipping company; via a letter through the post about a week later)
