Problems triggering anything other than normal motion detection....

I think you hit on something. I changed from using the built in Dahua integration to ONVIF and ONVIF returned more useful data. Intrusion is detected as "General Field Detection detected motion". It's doesn't say human/vehicle/animal/etc... but it's better than nothing. The 'look for the red...

Problems triggering anything other than normal motion detection....

I tried that. However, when I used Smart Plan/IVS.. I get zero alert passed through to home assistant. I don't know if the camera itself it detecting anything; possibly because I don't know where to look on it.

Problems triggering anything other than normal motion detection....

I recently purchased a Dahua IPC-B54IR-ASE-S3 and am trying to tie it into Home Assistant. Everything works fine except for the native camera motion detection. Regardless of the toggling of various AI/"Smart Plan" or "Motion Detection"/"Smart Motion Detection" options, I only ever see a...

Where does one buy Duhua cameras?

As recommended, I purchased the IPC-B54IR-ASE-S3 bullet camera. Overall, it's looking like a good camera. I would like to smack whoever at Dahua thought it was a good idea to a ship camera with a static IP set on them. That one decision caused me a bit of drama. The only issue I'm having...

Where does one buy Duhua cameras?

A bullet isn't a requirement. I tend to gravitate toward them because of the smaller mounting base, that's all. This will be mounted outside to the underside of my deck. The sticker on the outside doesn't matter much to me either. Largely, I just want stability, a web interface that doesn't...

Where does one buy Duhua cameras?

I'm trying to find a replacement camera that shoots across my backyard. I was looking at the "Dahua Technology WizSense VU-MORE N82DDS2 8MP Outdoor Network Bullet Camera". The bigger issue I'm having is that while duhua makes a lot of cameras, I can't find many people that actually sell them...

Blue Iris Version 5 is right around the corner!

Nice.. so, I purchased BlueIris less than 2 months ago and now I find out that I have to pay again to stay current. Does anyone know if I have any recourse here that doesn't involve me shelling more money to get Version 5?

    Pure Bare Copper Wire

When I first read this, I thought you were talking about truly bare/exposed copper cable... IE: basically trying to run your network over speaker wire. If you're asking if your network cables should be pure copper as opposed to aluminium (copper coated), then the answer is yes. Any cables...

Possible to secure the BI web server?

So, I disabled STunnel and setup nginx. Overall, it was pretty easy to setup, however I can't figure out one thing. Has anyone been able to get TLSv1.3 to work with the Windows version of nginx? It's looking like the openssl version embedded within nginx is out of date and I can't figure out...

Possible to secure the BI web server?

By chance, is it possible to secure the BI web server? I'm using STunnel encapsulate its web traffic via HTTPS and have it setup well enough to get an A+ rating via Qualys SSLLabs, however I want to do more. I'd like to do a few more things such as adding some security headers, removing where...

IP cam viewer crashes on my ios 7

Can you put your device in airplane mode (or just kill wifi), open the app, make the change, and then re-enable everything?

    Starlight or 4k?

Attached is a pic of my backyard. I'm thinking of attaching a camera to the soffit closest to me and aiming the camera toward the ground near the light. There's a gate there. The light can be aimed/changed as needed. So, the question is, do you think a 4k cam would be able to get a quality...

    Any rebranded Dahua Starlight Cams?

Wow, you weren't kidding. This thing is so good in low light, that it's not even going into night vision mode. The light from my garage light is enough to keep it in color mode and it looks great. I wish they made a 4k camera with this sensor (and was affordable). I only had 2 incredibly...

external drive on Dell Opt. SFF, MFF, USFF

About a month... I'm still dipping my toes in the water. My Blue Iris PC is a Dell Optiplex 3020 SFF and my USB enclosure is a Antec MX-1. No special reasons for either; it's simply what I just happened to have laying around. I do plan to upgrade the HDD eventually, however I'm perfectly...

external drive on Dell Opt. SFF, MFF, USFF

I suppose it may depend on how many cameras you have (throughput issues), but I'm doing exactly that right now with my 4 test cameras without issue. My drive is in a USB enclosure and working fine. Now, I haven't experimented to find out what would happen if that enclosure lost power and Blue...
