The older 5442 S2 were much better. Minus the extra AI and not as low light, but better IMO. The new S3 introduced crappier lenses. I took the lens off a burned up older 5442 and put that on the new S3 and it made a huge difference. The old lens was larger. Ofcourse they changed hardware too. -

Also it resets the image settings when you turn Metadata off too. It has a built in exposure setting that makes the image darker and noisier. Yes I have the 8 port PRO EI and it has all the Acupick features and works great over the Network. I was surprised to see they never added Acupick into their higher end AI NVR, at least not into the Web Service which is how most people access this kind of machine, over the network. Id like to... -

It would not load video at all through Smart PSS. And Device config would not open the web service. Went back to 2024 firmware using SmartPSS update and it worked. Surprised Smart PSS update worked to be honest especially over p2p. The reason I was trying the update was incase they added... -

The NVR608-XI 2024 firmware does not have Acupick in its Web Service, so unless you have direct local access Acupick is not available. Updating to the Jan 2025 firmware on the main Dahua site caused my 608 not to work properly, had to go back to 2024 fw. Question, does the USA 2023 fw have... -

The 5842 S3 Zoom is terrible at night. Stick with the 5442 unless you literally have tons of light. The 8mp 2.8mm is better at night than the ZOOM model, but darker than the 5442 2.8mm (it has a real digital zoom though, blows away the 5442 in good light). May depend on what type of phone you have. Mine is an A32 samsung with is fine with everything else. But DMSS can barely load 2 or 3 sites in the list before crashing and having to restart the app. And swiping pages rarely works. -

Yeah I can see the difference in the AI features as I throw Metadata and Face recognition on basic 2000 series cameras and it works (albeit faces not as good as the 5000 series and was only for testing purposes). And its not as limited as with the EI. But I definitely have more customers picking... -

Thanks, unfortunately its hard to get the customer to spend on the 7xx models. Hoping they may come out with cheaper APNR models in the future. Definately waiting on Acupick 2.0. Thought we would be able to use AcuPick 1.0 over web service with this XI but guess we have to wait for now. Also... -
