Looking to replace some older Dahua cameras and NVR. I would prefer buying from Andy. But, I don’t see a camera on his site with these comparable specs. Will I need to venture away from Dahua for this?

If you want varifocal in that sensor size, go for the Ubiquiti G6 Pro Turret ;)

Afraid of that. Any other brands with those specs available to buy in US for end consumers besides Unifi?

Axis have cameras with even bigger sensors.
Don’t ask for price

99% consumer cameras have small 1/2.8 or 1/3” sensors

Only a few companies have dedicated 1/1.8” models. Consumer Full color 1/1.2” cam model was one time freak accident by HIK/dahua

Biggest problem with G6 Pro is that night video quality from that camera is not so good. Both color and/or IR...
True, this is especially due to the fact that the end user has no way of setting shutter speed / exposure. Biggest fail from Ubiquiti - also, cannot login to the camera without using UniFi Protect and dedicated NVR

That's what I'm replacing. I have a bunch of the Dahua IPC-HFW5421E-Z cameras. I wanted to increase the FOV on some of these without sacrificing my identification ranges.
Try the G6 Pro Turret, but it from Microcenter (if you have one nearby); return it within 30 days if you don't like it. However, do please share some samples (especially of nighttime performance) here on the forum

Then try the 5241-Z4E that has more optical zoom and keep the existing camera for wider angle.

Too many make the mistake of trying to use one camera for too much and sadly adding MP doesn't help.

The zoom isn't the problem, I don't think. I'd like to reduce the zoom, but maintain the same identification over a wider area. If I reduce the zoom I have now, I get more of an overview shot. I guess I could add more cameras to do identification at many more areas, but there's a ton of spaces I need to be able to do identification in. I was hoping by increasing the MP, I could get the same identification at a wider FOV.

that COMS is really big, I, too, love the visual effects produced by this camera—they are truly fantastic. I don't know if any other company have that sellection. if you consider to get that kind of product I suggest to ask him directly.

if you consider Hik, you can try DS-2CD2T87G2-LSU/SL, or some Sehnzhen company. the alll using SmartSens SC880SL Module

Sadly you will likely be disappointed moving up to 8MP if that is your goal.

Experience here has shown that identify distances are relatively the same for 4MP or 8MP. The sensors are just too small to make a significant impact.

Many here replaced the 5442 with an 8MP on the 1/1.2 sensor and ended up going back to the 5442.

"I guess I could add more cameras to do"

Sounds like the option to consider ..

Perhaps a dual lens 4MP 1/1.8" will work as a replacement in a couple of spots and then you can move the other camera to another spot, or focus it on a choke point.

One thing that may sway my decision is availability. I have a bunch of older Dahua cams that I will be replacing a little at a time. Will Andy still be getting cameras in and selling them, or is it just selling out of current stock? I don’t want to be stuck halfway through a switch, and not be able to order more. I don’t really have that concern with Ubiquiti.
