Installing an Axis speaker to run the door checkers off

I get transients and bums on the back of my commercial property no matter how many fences, "No Trespassing/You are under Surveillance" signs, lights, and cameras I install. Had one last Saturday night checking my back entrance door:

I have BI sending a "You are trespassing" audio clip when the AI detects people back here after hours. The problem is my 4k-x's on this pole are mounted too high for people to hear the speakers reliably. So after some thinking I decided a needer a louder speaker that I could trigger from BI. I went ahead and purchased an Axis C1310-E Mk II network horn. I purchased it on eBay from someone who had never installed it so I was able to get it for a decent discount. These speakers are $600+ brand new.

I need to rent a lift to install it and I plan on doing that tomorrow so no pictures yet. But playing around with it, the damn thing is bullet proof and built like a shit brickhouse which one expects from an Axis engineered product. It's all metal so no plastic parts to fail. It has a microphone built into it as well so I can easily do 2-way talk through it if I wish. It powers via POE and it easily triggers from BI via a simple web link that the speaker creates in the management interface. I can even upload custom audio that I record for it to play if desired. Or I can have it's built in AI read text I type into it and it can announce it back in a regular human voice. Oh, and its friggin loud!! I made the mistake of playing some of its built-in files with the speaker next to me... Yeah, don't do that. Even pointing away from me it nearly knocked me out of my chair and deafened me in the left ear.

At any rate, I'll post some pictures tomorrow after I get it up on the building.

Maddening, isn't it? Maybe they are illiterate and you need a visual.....possibly hang a realistic mannequin by its ankles just around each corner, complete with dripping blood. :headbang:

I got it up and installed this morning. Not really very exciting to look at like cameras are. I installed a little grab handle above it in case I need to work on it in the future with no lift. Metal roofs are slippery and there are no hand grabs where that thing is located.

Overall I'm impressed with the level of software available on board. It's easy enough to play a pre-installed audio clip via a http link so triggering with BI is flawless. I even created my own custom audio clip ("Get the fuck off my lawn!") and uploaded it to the speaker (I keep wanting to say "camera" instead of "speaker". It's weird installing a POE speaker).

I actually can't find the text to speech ability. I could have swore I saw it when I was playing with it yesterday but I'll be damn if I can find it now.

Hopefully I get some bums walking through the area tonight to see what kind of reaction I get. It's very loud. I expect some decent jump scares.

You would be better off recording your own voice alert saying this is a monitored site, the police will be called etc.

My favorite recorded sound must include the distinct racking of a pump shotgun.......

how do you integrate the microphone into blue iris?
In the Alert Tab for the specific camera, hit the "On Alert" button. There you can add actions when alerts are created. In the Axis speaker, you can create links to specific audio files that you upload to the speaker and you can then trigger the speaker via the link. So I just input the link into the "On Alert" area of the camera and when the AI detects a person during specific hours on that camera, BI triggers the link.

so did u ever set it up to use the built in microphone?
I haven't really explored it much as I don't really need two way talk. I can use MIcroSIP to talk through the speaker but I haven't spent enough time to figure out how to get the audio back to me from it.

You can install ultrasonic blasters. They are not fictional tools.

They work as a deterrant and should be used in riot control (like the mob stuff going on in Chicago) They are popular in the EU. 140 Db of sound.

I used it when the neighbors decided to party all night outside in their pool at 3 AM in the morning. It worked. Works on barking dogs too.

They will cause nausea and vomiting and eventually cause damage to the ear apparatus.

An ultrasonic tone at 140db is extremely intense, potentially causing immediate damage to the auditory system and physical discomfort. Despite being inaudible to many, this intensity causes acute acoustic trauma, potential eardrum rupture, dizziness, nausea, headaches, and tinnitus, effectively acting as high-intensity sound exposure.

Ultrasonic Exposure:
Acute Acoustic Trauma (AAT): The US Department of Defense considers

The maximum permissible limit for unprotected ears, as this level causes immediate damage to hair cells in the cochlea.
Physical Symptoms: Exposure can cause rapid onset of headaches, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), fatigue, dizziness, and nausea.
Hearing Damage: It can cause a temporary (TTS) or permanent threshold shift (PTS) in hearing, meaning permanent hearing loss.
Physical Injury: High-intensity sounds, particularly in the lower ultrasonic range, can cause structural damage to the ear, including possible eardrum rupture and bleeding (labyrinth bleeding). For more than 1 second, as it can cause immediate injury, similar to being near a jet engine takeoff.

Here is another one. Guy had to have felt the burn stopping mid-stream. Loving this speaker.
Is that an included audio message on Axis speakers or one you downloaded?
