US Elections (& Politics) :)

Yea, that's a pretty dumb liberal taking Tylenol just to spite Trump... but bleach?... Who was following his instructions regarding bleach? Oh yea:

At least 5 states report an increase in calls to poison control after Trump’s ‘disinfectant’ COVID-19 remarks

It was only libtards that were dumb enough to believe the narrative from their talking heads that he said to take bleach.

So that cartoon was created by a TDS lib.

All the MAGA patriots knew he never said to take bleach.

Yes, that cartoon looks to be created by someone who disagrees with Trump. But I don't think either one of us could really know for sure who decided to try drinking disinfectants and cause the increase in calls to poison control. I'm just trying to be a pest to ease my own TDS. :)

I watch all these shows and do find them entertaining, but I don't see the lies/propaganda you mention... I do see Trump lying all the time... I not going to try to start listing them :) ... if you think Trump doesn't lie more than most politicians/people then we can just disagree and leave it at that.

I don't disagree with you on this... my point is that Kimmel wasn't removed from the air because of capitalism as Portney argues. It seems pretty obvious to me that Trump wants Kimmel and the others off the air for speaking the truth because the truth hurts Trump.
Kimmel LIED about the ideology of the shooter. yes-- I said LIED, because by the time of the taping of that shit show, the TRUTH of his ideology had come out publicly from multiple news outlets. He LIED. Being a LIAR is not funny. Lying is what Kimmel and Colbert do. If Disney wants him on the air-- IDGAF, as I quit watching him as soon as he got politically ONE sided. Good luck to him.

As for Trump, he is boastful, narcissistic, and can't admit when he's wrong about anything. At the same time, he does BETTER for this country than others. My primary criticism of him is the F grade I give him on Federal spending and budget. He gets an A+ on securing our border.

I agree with what you say here other than "Lying is what Kimmel and Colbert do". I don't think that LIE (and I'm sure there are others) means that lying in general is what Kimmel or Colbert do regularly... and it's clearly documented by Trump himself that he wanted to silence Kimmel and Colbert before this LIE.

Trump has the border closed and that's great... Biden's border policy was horrible, no argument there. And other democrat policies were equally stupid like defund the police, DEI, trans in sports, etc. Somehow, the democrats were (still are) steered by the fringe of the party.

You mentioned Trump is boastful, narcissistic, and can't admit when he's wrong about anything... in my opinion that list is incomplete without adding his two worst qualities... he is a liar and a grifter... he lies constantly and in doing so he does BETTER for himself, not for the country. Everything is transactional... which wouldn't be the worst thing if he could just put the country ahead of himself... what is he doing with crypto that sneaky bastard.

You know he ain't getting that big, beautiful plane for nothing, and then he wants us to fix it up nice for him too... Currently, plans are Florida/Desantis will donate property (prime real estate) in Miami for his presidential library... he plans to have a hotel there along with his new big, beautiful freshly upgraded plane... he's got over 50 million in the library fund already thanks to his Meta settlement, and CBS and ABC shakedowns. That's nothing... I'd bet he's planning on having many multiples of that before he's done... it's gonna be the goldest presidential library/hotel like nobody has ever seen before... marble, not travertine floors.

Or maybe Trump is not a liar/grifter and TDS is a true mental illness and I'm just not in touch with reality :)

you can watch the two videos here and see that kimmels supposed apology was really crying for himself.

And here he cries for himself...

I've seen it... I don't think he apologized at all... I think he should have, specifically for the comment about the murderer's ideology, but he did not. Maybe for legal reasons, or maybe he just doesn't get it, or maybe he's just being a jerk in this case.

There's no apology necessary for Jimmy's comment regarding Trump's answer to the reporter's question "How are you doing after Charlie's murder?"... I mean, Trump's answer is right there on video.

I don't think he was crying... as Matt Walsh states, he's choked up... rather than apologizing, which I think he should have, he tries to explain that he was not trying to make fun of Charlie's murder, which he did not, and got choked up explaining that... so, yea, I agree with you, he was crying for himself.

Anyway, IMHO, ultimately, Kimmel is trying to expose Trump's lies and grifting... I don't care if he makes mistakes along the way.

Imho nearly all recent Presidents fit the grifter check box

All have gaslighted people .. and tons of people have showed themselves accepting the grift and gaslighting.

I'll do you one better.....just fire half of the GS force...we will never even realize it by proficiency standards and the amount of tax payer money saved would be astonishing!

Do not forget that Congress gets a big portion of the criticism on government spending. They are having trouble passing a responsible budget IMHO.

Theoretically, it's almost entirely their fault... but Trump has a stranglehold on the republican controlled congress thanks to his unfaltering MAGA base... go against him and you'll be primaried. So, there's no check on his executive power... Trump wants his big, beautiful bill, he gets his big, beautiful bill.

all the recent Presidents have been expanding Executive Power .. the Democrats should have attempted to limit Obama and Biden, yet they were happy to let them. ( same applies to the Republicans with Bush .. et al )

I always find it interesting all the bickering from one side of Congress when the other side holds the White House, and then the inverse ..

The rise and fall (but mostly rise) of presidential power
The last three presidents in particular have strengthened the powers of the office through an array of strategies.

One approach that attracts particular attention—because it allows a president to act unilaterally, rather than work closely with Congress—is the issuing of executive orders. “All presidents act in some measure by executive order,” says Neil Eggleston, who served as White House counsel from 2014 to 2017 and teaches a course at HLS on presidential power. He notes that most presidents issue hundreds of them during their time in office, and few merit much notice. “That said, you can predict when they’re going to be controversial.”

Neil Eggleston, White House counsel from 2014 to 2017, teaches a course at HLS titled Presidential Power in an Era of Conflict.
Eggleston says that Bush used executive orders to establish the Guantánamo Bay detention camp despite significant protest. Obama used executive orders to expand immigration protections for immigrants who arrived in the United States as children through DACA. (His order for the parents of these children, DAPA, was blocked in federal court.)
