US Elections (& Politics) :)

Let's hope.

I suspect when it is all said and done, it will be more unethical/shady behavior but not to the point of being illegal and prosecutable, and not enough to give us a refund. They have worked so many legal loopholes and work-arounds I suspect nobody will be held accountable.

I think all we will get are the feels of winning and not the actual tangible results.

Prove me wrong Trump and Elon LOL.
I'd settle for permanent public humiliation, loss of pension, heavy fines and loss of any employment opportunity other than Mickey D's in lieu of getting prosecuted if that is all that can be had.

The Best tangible result is that money is not spent and/or Given to politically-motivated NGO's actively engaged in operations and programs that do not support the United States as a country.

Late to the party?

Trump administration can continue mass firings of federal workers, US judge rules

The Trump administration can for now continue its mass firings of federal employees rejecting a bid by a group of labor unions to halt President Donald Trump’s dramatic downsizing of the roughly 2.3 million-strong federal workforce.

The ruling by U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper in federal court is temporary while the litigation plays out. But it is a win for the Trump administration as it seeks to purge the federal workforce slashing what it deems wasteful and fraudulent government spending.

The National Treasury Employees Union and four other unions sued last week to block the administration from firing hundreds of thousands of federal workers and granting buyouts to employees who quit voluntarily.

The unions are seeking to block eight agencies including the Department of Defense, Department of Health and Human Services, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and Department of Veterans Affairs from implementing mass layoffs.

Cooper on Thursday said he likely lacks the power to hear the case, and that the unions instead must file complaints with a federal labor board that hears disputes between unions and federal agencies.

Trump has tapped Tesla CEO (TSLA.O), opens new tabElon Musk to lead a new Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, which has swept through federal agencies slashing thousands of jobs and dismantling federal programs since Trump became president last month and put Musk in charge of rooting out what he deems wasteful spending as part of Trump's dramatic overhaul of government. Trump also ordered federal agencies to work closely with DOGE to identify federal employees who could be laid off.

Termination emails were sent last week to workers across the federal government, mostly recently hired employees still on probation, at agencies such as the Department of Education, the Small Business Administration, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the General Services Administration, and others.

All of these pieces are falling into place. DOGE will be digging up the initial evidence of fraud and malfeasance, Patel will run with that and identify the specific people involved across thousands of instances of criminal acts, and Bondi will kick their F-ing asses in court to put them away. Patel and Bondi as a team should scare the shit out of every corrupt asshole in DC.
I have a strong suspicion (and that's all it is) all this evidence was carefully collected over the last four years, precisely so Elon and DOGE could reveal it all to the public. However and whenever it was collected, it's exposed in front of the public eye now.

I was hoping the 87,000 new IRS agents would be let go. 6,000 is nothing.

Federal Court Smacks Down Bishops’ Demand to Force Trump Administration to Fund ‘Refugee’ Settlement

A federal judge on Thursday delivered a major blow to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), denying their attempt to force the Trump administration into continuing taxpayer funding for their massive refugee resettlement operations.

Judge Trevor McFadden, a Trump appointee, rejected the bishops’ request for a temporary restraining order (TRO) that would have forced the administration to immediately restore funding.

The lawsuit, filed by the non-profit organization USCCB in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, challenged the Trump administration’s decision to cut off federal grants that fuel the mass resettlement of migrants across America—programs that have operated for decades with little oversight. The lawsuit names the State Department, the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM), and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as defendants.

The decision to halt funding aligns with President Trump’s America First agenda, ensuring that U.S. taxpayer dollars are no longer funneled into organizations facilitating unchecked migration.

My comment: I am seeing a lot of Catholics agreeing with this decision with their postings.
