No 100% solution. I use Tripwire only during the day, Both tripwire and MD at night. (on the driveway) I still get alerts from a big oak tree's shadows when its windy using Tripwire. All you can do is experiment and minimize the false alerts. As mentioned, the real fix is external PIR sensors.
You might try Intrusion Zones, I had better luck with those, unfortunately the 1 year old 4208-8P-4KS2 DVR (
Which magically doesnt exist anymore according to Dahua's updated website, uh,hem) only supports Tripwire? Go figure Dahua and their inconsistent firmware releases.
Intrusion zones allow you to draw a box, coupled with experimenting with target sizes can give you better control.
