This is worse than the Kumbaya

Has anyone here been in an actual earthquake? To say you have no power over yourself or your surroundings is very accurate. I have been in two, though both were not severe. Once, when I was on the USS Long Beach docked (Coronado NAS) and once sitting outside at DISA in Maryland smoking one. Though I thought they both were a bit amusing (not in a funny, but more interesting way), I can fully understand how these kids reacted to this. Complete terror. I saw adults around me act like these kids. God Bless those educators for doing their best to protect and reassure them.

Will never forget the 2.8 magnitude Earthquake we had in the tristate area in 2024 - nobody was expecting that and virtually all buildings here are Earthquake prone
