Newbie Question - Amcrest NVR With Dahua Cameras?

I have an Amcrest NV4108E-A2 NVR. I would like to pair it with Dahua cameras. Ideally, I would like it only to record events as opposed to continuously. Would the later and soon to be released model cameras trigger this NVR to record in this way?

It should unless the NVR is really old and can't handle the newer cameras.

Thank you! Just trying to get a feel for what to expect when I try this. I think this version of the NVR came out around 2020-2022. I'm not thrilled with it but I prefer not to have to replace it at this time. Thanks again.
