New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I've had 3 of these reolink doorbell cameras and they all stop working after around a year. They also cannot handle critism when I complained about why there are ads in the app and try to say it's a "you issue". Fuck these schmucks

My kids and I each have one on our houses. They are well over 2 years old no issues. Also neither of us have seen ads in the app. I use the app and BI. I actually just called my kids to confirm no ads as they only use the app.

I have 2 of these on my house (separate entrances) and same here, no ads with the app or issues with the hardware.

So you dont see this ad when you open the side menu? I agree it isnt that annoying, but the an orange notification badge that appears next to the hamburger icon at random times of the month to remind you to check out this "reolink captures" crap. There is also a banner in the home screen that periodically nags you to extend your warranty.

That was from years ago when I complained to their reddit group, and receieved rude responses from the Reolink reddit moderators. I donubt they changed their ways. You probably are used to ads that you haven't been paying attention. This app is actually a deceptive marketing platform first, and an interface for their products second.

I have a couple of caveats for how I use mine that may be different from what you’re doing with your setup. First I only use the app on my phone, never a computer. Second I also have 32GB mini SD cards loaded into both of my doorbells so all my captures are recorded there in the app (so I don’t use the Reolink cloud service whatsoever). Not sure if either of those makes a difference on your end but I’d be curious to see if it did. I definitely don’t see any ads you’re describing above at all but again I’ve never bothered on a computer other than my initial setup (too long ago to remember if there was ads then).

No Ads on the PC Client...but mind is not connected to their cloud, nor have I ever used their App. They do not even know I own one of their Doorbells...

Using their App connects you to their cloud...

Same here...bought them when they first released the Doorbell...version 1...to add, this DB has been in Texas heat and very humid conditions...

Can't speak for the Ads since I don't use their App...

I will say, what App, now a days don't have Ads of some sort even if they are their own product promotions.

I am with Clucky, I can't stand Ads, they are shoved down our throats these days in every way. When we moved we didn't even forward our mail this time...90% of our snail mail in our mailbox were Ads...

Don't get me started on Trackers, which sell our info to companies so they can target us with their Ads...

Lastly, there are Ads here on the Forum for revenue, which helps keep this Forum online, but if you become a Member, no more Ads...which is smart, IMO.
