Direct-to-wire seems broken under latest releases

I operate with all of my cameras on a profile which uses direct-to-wire so that the raw stream from the camera is pushed through to the client without any manipulation by the BI server. Thus, no overlays, image changes, etc. That's fine, as it results in a sharper, more fluid video compared to any of the reencoded profiles.

However on the latest update(s) the direct-to-wire functionality seems to have been borked. I get only a spinning wheel. Recorded clips and re-encoded profiles work fine. I checked on the BI console and found that the direct-to-wire was UNchecked (which I didn't do). I re-enabled it hoping the function would restor - it did not.

Has anyone else been able to use the D2W function on the latest releases?

I’m seeing the same behavior.

I also run all cameras using Direct-to-Disk/Direct-to-Wire so the raw stream is passed through with no re-encoding. Substreams still work fine, but when switching to the full-resolution live stream in UI3, I only get a spinning loading wheel. Recorded clips and re-encoded streams display normally.

Viewing the high-resolution stream via the Blue Iris client on the server works perfectly — the issue only occurs through UI3 (both locally and remotely).

For me, this started after updating to 5.9.9.96, which happened around the same time as a Windows 10 update — so I’m not sure which change caused it.

I reached out to Ken and he suggested forcing an update to the newer .96. Apparently there were two versions of .96. After installing the newer of the two, the problem resolved. I can now see live D2W streams on UI3. However, my overall performance on UI3 seems very choppy when looking at anything other than D2W. Lots of dropped frames and strobing video. Better than a spinning wheel, but not as good as it has been. I'm to covered up in other projects to troubleshoot more, but I'm sure it'll get resolved with more releases.
