Dahua nvr firmware update problem

I have a dahua nvr see pic, which I bought from AliExpress a while ago, it works well but it's on v3 firmware I would like to put it on version 4 on but every time I try and update it gets to about 50 to 60% then fails..

What is the build date you have currently? You cannot just update to V4 without the correct path. You need to be on the January 2019 firmware on V3 before you can apply the first V4 version. Trust me

Thanks that makes sense, the firmware on it is 2018.. where do I get older firmware's from so I can update in steps?

Good that you have found a suitable update for it.
What version did you go to? Eg. v4.001.0000005.4.R240808 .
