Running cabling "out" through vinyl siding, and up the exterior for mounting location // Street view location

OK. I have a IPC-HFW5431EP-Z5 that I'm going to use for LPR. Focused tighter to the road, and set up to grab plates at night. I believe best practice is to have a second camera set up to have an overall view of the area. That's why I had to re-think everything while I was in the store. I think...

Running cabling "out" through vinyl siding, and up the exterior for mounting location // Street view location

I am happy to run 1/2" but I thought I would need 3/4" for easier pulling. Not like it's a long run anyways. Fingers they only have 100 ft roll of half inch non-metallic tubing, not the 25'. Hole in the bottom of the PFA is also 3/4", I'll have to see if they make an adapter.

Running cabling "out" through vinyl siding, and up the exterior for mounting location // Street view location

Man I'm sitting at home Depot right now going crazy trying to piece this together. Almost have everything I want but I would need a 3/4 inch pvc female threaded adapter to connect a liquid tight to the PVC pipe and they don't have any. Going to read and think here.

Running cabling "out" through vinyl siding, and up the exterior for mounting location // Street view location

So you are screwing the LB directly on top of the vinyl siding and just squishing that down?

Running cabling "out" through vinyl siding, and up the exterior for mounting location // Street view location

Good info! I need to rethink part of my plan. I was under the impression that I was going to use all PVC and a plastic LB, but a plastic LB does not have threaded openings. My thought was to use a foot or so of Liquidtite on the top and bottom end of the vertical PVC run so that I can keep it...

Running cabling "out" through vinyl siding, and up the exterior for mounting location // Street view location

I think for this I am going to run my Cat6 inside some 3/4" PVC and Liquidtite up next to the downspout and run it in. I like the idea of outdoor cable, but I already have this Cat6 and don't want to drop the extra money on more cable at this point. I'll be using a PFA121 mounting box for the...

Mounting question for IPC-HFW5431EP-Z5 on PFA121

I plan to use a vinyl siding plate adapter to mount the PFA121 box, with the IPC-HFW5431EP-Z5 attached to that. Box is setup nice with blind mounting holes that don't allow water in. There is also a rubber gasket that goes around the edge that is not there in the picture. Grommet has a split...

Remote (off-network) connection to my Hikvision NVR...public IP is CGNAT IP

I have a Hikvision NVR5416-4KS2, and I'm running SmartPSS-Lite at home to at least manage it remotely within my own network. My edge device is a Firewalla Purple, which supports VPN My public IP is: 204.111.xxx.xxx and my ISP is GloFiber. My Firewalla's public IP is 100.68.xxx.xxx, and this...

Running cabling "out" through vinyl siding, and up the exterior for mounting location // Street view location

Yeah my eaves are way way too high. I do have a 2" conduit running from the basement up to the attic, however the 18"+ of blown-in insulation will make maneuvering up there a nightmare. I believe (and you'll all correct me if I'm wrong) that this height will give me a good reading of...

Running cabling "out" through vinyl siding, and up the exterior for mounting location // Street view location

I have a Dahua IPC-HFW5431EP-Z5 that I want to mount near the front corner of the side of my house, aiming at the stree. I'll have it tightend up to basically cover sidewalk-to-sidewalk or so, maybe tighter, will have to play with it once it's up. Vehicle capture, hopefully plates too...

Football field security -- camera layout/design

I talked to the commissioner of Football today, he said send the plan/ideas up to the Athletic department. To begin answering some of the questions... What are the functional needs? Biggest thing for ME is general security, plus ability to provide video evidence in several "he said / she said"...

Football field security -- camera layout/design

Well I saw the current system today. Google searches pull up a bunch of crap in Russian. Looks to be an old system anyways. Power cycled but comes back up with just this light on. Nothing on the monitor.

Football field security -- camera layout/design

Looking to present the board of our local sports organization some ideas to increase security and the protection of coaches, parents, and players from the he said/she said craziness of the youth sports world and the crazy parents that are involved with it. If you know, you know LOL. I'm told...

    RJ45 Ethernet connection issues

Those poles are helpful! Note for anyone pulling cable or a fishtape/pole etc. -- run a pull-string in there so you have something to use next time you run a cable if you need to. If you use that pull-string, pull in a NEW string along with your new cable so it's always there.

    RJ45 Ethernet connection issues

For the low price of a stranded patch cable, and the annoyance factor in putting connectors on stranded cable (prior to the EZ-RJ), I find it's worthwhile to me to just buy the short patch cables pre-made from Monoprice. https://www.monoprice.com/category/pages/1 There's a few different...

Camera helps "crazy blonde woman with a pink jacket" find her kid's phone

Camera: IPC-HDW5231R-Z I left my house shortly after 6:00 p.m., and my daughter called "uh, hey dad, there's some blonde lady with a pink jacket at the door, do you know her?" "Nope, I don't. Don't answer it, just make sure the doors are locked." Figured it was sales or something. I get home...

Using "SmartPlay" in Dahua NVR to review tripwire events keeps freezing/locking up?

I don't know...I'm not sure if I'm even using it right. For example this car came down from the top corner. There was no change to the the color of the blue line as if it had triggered the tripwire, however it did draw a green box around the car as it was driving by? There is nothing...

I have a Dahua NVR5416-4KS2, still trying to learn how everything works. Looking to get the hang of tripwires and the IVS stuff. My NVR is not internet-connected yet, only local. Web Version: 3.2.3.79524 Onvif Version: 2.4.1 System Version: 3.210.0003.0, Build Date: 2017-04-18 I'm sure my...

Solution to add a couple LPR cameras — here's my setup in question

That's good to know that they don't get blinded. I was imagining how a camera usually looks in the presence of bright lights...but still prefer them higher for the other reasons listed. Sounds so stupid on the digital plates. I searched for Pennsylvania. I see a pilot program kicked off in...
